Clearance Sales – Target & Fred Meyer

February 25, 2010

Have you all been checking out  the clearance sales I told you about? I haven’t been able to check it out yet myself (still have had sick kiddos – my little one was diagnosed with RSV, a respiratory virus, over the weekend, but  thankfully she is doing so much better & past the contagious stage), so I will be checking this out soon!

I’m hearing from readers that they are finding some great deals both at Target & Fred Meyer.  Target is reported to have their bulk sections now at 50% off (this may vary by stores) with some items as much as 75% off.

One item to look for in the bulk section at Target: Mr Potato Head Multi-packs which may be on clearance for $4.24. Use this $2 off coupon & you’ll only pay $2.24 for a multipack. {I didn’t see these at my Target last week, but let us know if  you find them at your  store). Thanks Hip2Save!

Fred Meyer is also continuing their 70% off clothing, shoe & accessories sale thru this Saturday 2/27, so  make sure to head in there to find some awesome deals!

Let us know what you’ve been finding at these clearance sales!

FREE Purex Laundry Detergent at Fred Meyer

February 15, 2010

Fred Meyer is having a great deal on Purex Laundry Detergent this week – you’ll definitely want to try to head on over there to stock up on some laundry detergent. I know I will be!!

Here are the details:

There is a catalina deal going on where if you buy 2 50 oz Purex you’ll get a $4 catalina and buy 3, get a $5 catalina.  This catalina will be printing thru March 7th.  This looks like it is the case for all Kroger stores & affiliates (Fred Meyer is an affiliate of Kroger stores).  So, check out your local Kroger store (or affiliate) to see if they have a sale on Purex as well, which you can combine with this catalina deal. Let us know in the comments if you find a great deal!!

Scenario:

Buy {2} Purex 50 oz laundry detergent

Use Fred Meyer in-ad coupon to make them 2 for $1.99/ea

Use {2} $.35/1 coupons from the 1/10 Red Plum insert

Final Price: $3.28 total for 2,  Receive $4 catalina when you buy 2!

FREE & moneymaker after catalina & coupons!!

**You should be able to “roll” this deal (meaning use the $4 catalina to then buy 2 more Purex detergents & so forth)…just make sure to have a few filler items since it is a slight moneymaker & they can’t owe you the extra money back.

Note: Fabulessly Frugal is reporting that some people have had problems with the catalina printing.  If that’s the case, you can try talking to your Customer Service department at your store. But, most likely you will need to call the catalina company at 1-888-8COUPON if it does not print for you.

What is a catalina? For those who are new couponers, a catalina is a coupon that prints from the register after you  have paid for your purchase.  You can then use that coupon on a future purchase, either to come back another time (they typically expire within a few weeks) or use it on your next transaction.  I like to buy the items which will have catalinas first & then use the “catalina” coupons on the rest of my purchases within that same shopping trip.

Thanks Fabulessly Frugal & Maybe Frugal!

Fred Meyer – Playskool Toys 50% off sale

October 12, 2009

Fred Meyer is having a great sale right now on select Playskool Toys, with a number of the toys priced at 50% off. When paired with coupons from Coupons.com or coupons from HERE, you can snag some great deals up to 75% off!!

Here are a few awesome gift ideas::
Playskool Busy Ball Popper (50% off) = $10.99 (Reg. Price: $21.99)
Use a $5 off 1 coupon from HERE or HERE
Final Price: $5.99

Playskool Step Start Walk ‘n Ride (50% off) =$10.99 (Reg price: $21.99)
Use a $5 off 1 coupon from HERE or HERE
Final Price: $5.99
If your Fred Meyer is out of these toys, you can always request a rain check so you can go back when they are back in stock and still receive that same price. Or if you have a Fred Meyer nearby, but would rather go to Walmart or Target to buy these, you may be able to price match, if your store matches % off savings. Just make sure to bring in a copy of the ad. With Target, you need to do your price-matching at Customer Service.

Check out the rest of the toy coupons as well and see if there are any other coupons you can pair with this sale! I will definitely have to check out this deal as this is a great way to stock up on some gifts for Christmas or birthdays at a great price!

I’ve had several friends who had the Busy Ball Popper, and that was one of the most popular items that the babies would play with at our playgroups. Also, the Walk ‘n Ride is a classic toy, which is great for babies just learning to walk! My little one’s just at this point and she loves to push this little toy around.

Let us know if you have luck finding these toys at your local Fred Meyer and if you find any other great toy deals there!!

Thanks Hip2Save!

Fred Meyer – Glade Sense & Spray Moneymaker!

September 23, 2009

I mentioned earlier that Right@Home has new printable coupons for several Glade fragrance products. One of those is a $4 off 1 Sense & Spray Automatic Starter Kit . Thanks to a reader tip, it looks like you can pair this coupon with a Fred Meyer store coupon for a very sweet deal!! You will need to get the Fred Meyer Coupon Book (which can be found at the front of the store or at Customer Service)-it’s filled with all sorts of coupons you can use that month.

Here’s the scenario::
Buy 1 Glade Sense & Spray Automatic Starter Kit – on sale for $7.49
Use $4/1 Glade Sense & Spray Printable Coupon HERE
Use $3/1 Glade Sense & Spray Fred Meyer coupon (from coupon book)

Total = $.49 + tax

You will then get a catalina for $2 off your next order. This is a moneymaker of at least $1 (depending on tax).

Keana reported that she was able to do this 3 times – she spent $2.73 and got back $6 in catalinas! She did them all in separate transactions, so we’re not sure if these can be done in multiple transactions or not. Also, unsure if this catalina will “roll” (meaning you an use the catalina from the first purchase on the 2nd purchase and so forth). Let us know if you try this and find out!

Thank you Keana!

Kroger Gift Card Winner & Fred Meyer Deals

August 24, 2009

It’s time to announce the winner of the $30 Kroger Gift Card!!! The winner is…..
#3 – Fred Meyer!!! I’d love to win!! Chantel ~ bcmmj@

Chantel, I will be sending you an email shortly so I can get you set up to receive your $30 Gift Card!! Congratulations!! For the rest of you, make sure you go check out Kroger and its affiliate stores Mega Sales going on now until September 2nd in some areas!! For every $10 participating products you buy, you will receive $5 instant savings (with the exception of Fred Meyer, which I will talk about below)!! Check out my previous post for some locations to look for coupons to pair with the Mega Sale!! I found that Coupons.com had reset for me as well and I was able to print out a number of the same coupons I’d printed out earlier for products that I could use with this sale! So, make sure to check that out as well!!

I also wanted to share how I spent my $30 Kroger Gift Card from General Mills, PepsiCo, and MyBlogSpark. I went to my local Kroger-affiliate store, which is Fred Meyer. Fred Meyer is doing things slightly different in that they have their promotion as such that when you buy 10 participating products and use your Rewards card, you receive 500 extra reward points. At the end of the rewards earning period, you will then get $5 for those extra 500 points. This sale will be continuing thru next Saturday, August 29th! For most other Kroger stores, the Mega Sale, where you buy 10 participating products and receive an instant $5 off should be continuing until September 2nd – although dates vary by region!
Our Fred Meyer store does have higher prices than most of the regular Kroger stores, so my purchases reflect that! Here’s what I bought for $32.50 and I earned more than 500 reward points, which means I will get $5 back at the end of the rewards period. I also used this opportunity to use up some of my coupons expiring in the next few days and buy a few splurge items like the juice and biscuits.

Even though our Fred Meyer store does have higher prices at times, you can still find some great deals!

Here are a few more items I bought in a different transaction:
Cucumbers – 3/$1 (or $.33/each) – Green peppers are also 3/$1
Grapes (Red or Green) – $.88/lb
24 pk Fred Meyer Waters – 2/$5 w/in-ad coupon
Just a few more Fred Meyer Deals this week::
Fresh Lean Ground Beef (80% lean)
$1.28/lb (great stockup price)
Large Dozen Eggs
$1
Gallon of Milk
$1.99
Fred Meyer Yogurt
$.33/each (3/$1)
**Another great thing about Fred Meyer is that they have a new coupon sharing center at the front of the store, where you can look thru the coupons and take what you need and discard the coupons you don’t need – for others to use!! I spent a few minutes looking thru there and found some great coupons – I was excited! :) What a neat policy – since so many people might just throw out ones they don’t need – it’s nice to know there’s a place you can bring them if you don’t know anyone who would want those coupons!!
Let us know if you find any other good deals at Fred Meyer this week!

Fred Meyer $4 off Coppertone Products Coupon

June 11, 2009

Remember that awesome $4 off Fred Meyer tear-pad Coppertone coupon I talked about awhile back (here)–turns out it is still available and is good thru June 23rd, thanks to a reader tip! Lexie reported that she bought two bottles of sunblock, originally $10.99 each, using two of the $4 off coupons (orange tear-pad coupons right in front of the sunblock). Then, at checkout, a coupon printed out for a free stainless steel water bottle because she had bought two coppertone products. So, for $14, she got two large bottles of sunblock (valued at $22), plus a FREE stainless steel water bottle in the mail. That’s a great bargain!!! Thanks for this awesome tip, Lexie!

You could also use these coupons towards the Coppertone stick, which was $3.99, making them free (when I did this in May, the first cashier would not adjust the coupon down to $3.99–however, the next time I went, they were able to adjust it no problem, so I could get it for free–just depends on your cashier, as their policy is that they should adjust the coupon down to match the price of the item).

Fred Meyer Sales!!

May 16, 2009

I tell ya, I don’t usually shop at Fred Meyer, just because I’ve found some great deals at Safeway and Albertson’s lately…but this week, they have some great deals! I’ve actually gone twice this week–Tues evening and again yesterday. Thanks to my mentor from church, Katrina, she helped me out on Tues night and showed me all the deals so we could do it quickly! It definitely is a huge help to go with a friend to figure things out when couponing–it goes alot faster! And it’s fun, too! Thanks again, Katrina! :)

Since I know I have a lot of people who are totally new to couponing, I’m going to break it down as simply as possible for you with how it worked (sorry it’s now at the end of the week–these sales only go thru Saturday!!)::

Fred Meyer Deals

(Pictured Above)

-8 boxes of Kellogg’s Cereal (Limit of 8 per transaction)
-On sale for 2 for $5
-Use in-ad coupon for 2 for $3 (make sure you only get the types/sizes listed on the in- ad coupon)
-Used 8 Internet printable (IP) from Coupons.com or Kelloggs.com for $1 off $1(no longer available)
Final Price:: $.50 each (You could get these free if you use the $1.50 off 1 coupon from the 4/5 Red Plum newspaper insert)

4 Treetop Apple Juices – on sale for $1.50 with in-ad coupon (limit 8)
Used IP for $1 off 2
Final Price:: $1 each

2 Tillamook Butter (1 lb) – on sale for $1.50 with ad coupon (no limit)—this is cheaper than Kirkland’s Signature Butter at Costco—GREAT stockup price

2 Tillamook Cheese (2 lb blocks) – on sale for $3.99 with in-ad coupon (limit 2 per transaction)—normally $7.99—Awesome price to stock up!!

(You’ll also see my extra purchase of 6 2pks of Gerber Baby Food – this was supposed to be on sale but they charged me $.99 for 2pks {and I had no coupons}—so this killed my transaction right there {ugh!}—I had both kids with me and didn’t have time to go back after I realized the error)

Total without coupons:: 46.78

TOTAL with coupons::: $23.92

Tues night trip (no pictures, sorry–it was very late when I got home)::

8 Kellogg’s Cereal Boxes - 4 Raisin Bran & 4 Shredded Wheat (In-ad coupon for 2 for $3; 8 $1/1 Internet printable coupons)–$.50/each

4 Tillamook Butter (1 lb)$1.50/each

2 Tillamook Cheese Blocks (2 lb blocks) – $3.99 each

2 Tree-top Apple Juice Jugs$1/each (on sale for $1.50 w/in-ad coupon; Internet printable for $1 off 2)

2 Fresh Express Iceberg Salads – on sale for $.50 with in-ad coupon (limit 4)–if you got the Coupons.com coupon a week or so ago, it was $.50 off–making it FREE (I couldn’t find this coupon)–so I paid $.50/each

Total before coupons: $41.92

Total after coupons:: $21.98

Here are some deals that I didn’t have a chance to do, but am hopefully going to go back one more time and try::

**Kashi products are 40% off thru Saturday–There were a number of Kashi coupons at Coupons.com and Kashi. One of the best deals is to use this coupon for $1.50 off 1 to get a box of Kashi waffles for $.29 (make sure to print 2 by hitting the back arrow and refresh)

**Tillamook Ice Cream–on sale for $2.50 (how did I miss this one–their ice cream is the best!! Yum!!)

**Electrasol – on sale for $2.99/box–use the $2.50 off 1 coupon (from the 4/19 Smart Source coupon insert)–making it $.49/box

**Coppertone Sunblock Sticks- $3.99 – there is a tear-off Fred Meyer coupon for $4 off right at the sunscreen area (I found the special sunscreen area set off by itself in the main aisles)–which would make this FREE!!! Now whether your checker will let you use this or not will depend. When we tried this on Tues night, our checker said the coupon would beep (because it was $.01/overage and she said she could not manually change the coupon).

However, I’ve heard of a number of people being able to use this–if you have trouble, they say you can go to Customer Service and have them show the checker how to manually change the coupon so the price of the coupon is not higher than the price of the item. I checked at another Fred Meyer store on Wed but they were all out. So, let me know if you were able to get this deal to work!! It would be awesome if it works–FREE sunscreen!!

So, did any of you take advantage of the Fred Meyer Founders Day Sale this week?? How’d you do??
