The Master List of Outdoor Ice Skating Near Me Near Me in Washington!
The holiday seasons are made magical with so many festivities, and one of my favorites is ice skating in an outdoor ice rink. They usually include special lighting, Christmas music, and sometimes even fake snow. The combination is sure to make special memories for your family. If you are wondering where you might find outdoor ice skating near me – if you live in Washington, we have the master list here.
There are a number of year long indoor ice skating rinks, and although ice skating is fun year round, there is something about enjoying an outdoor ice skating rink that takes it to the next level. These are almost always seasonal, though, so be sure to check current dates and times for when they are open when planning your trip.
We love ice skating outdoors so much that we have been known to even plan a winter getaway destination around it. Here is a list of all the outdoor ice skating rinks in Washington that we know about, as well as some fun bonus options too (like bumper tubes on ice)!
You can also check out our Christmas in the Northwest article to find where to see Christmas lights, Santa Trains, and more this year.
Seattle Area Ice Rinks
Occidental Square Park – Seattle’s Pop Up Ice Skating Rink
One Weekend a Year, this ice rink pops up in Occidental Park in Seattle. This one is fun, as it is completely free (and the only free option we are aware of) if you bring your own skates.
Looks like it will be happening from December 13 to the 21st this year.
Hyatt Regency Lake Washington
Check out the debut of Seattle’s FIRST waterfront Glice skating rink this year, opening for Thanksgiving week! You can expect cozy fire pits, holiday drinks, roasting marshmallows, and more. Find all the details here.
Enchant Seattle Update – Enchant is not coming back for the 2025/2026 season.
Bonus Idea for Little Ones – Seattle Children’s Museum Winterfest and sock skating rink. If you have little ones, they have an indoor sock rink at the Seattle Children’s Museum Winter Market, which they can enjoy while staying toasty warm.

Tulalip Lights & Ice – There is a new Lights & Ice Rink at the Tulalip Resort, and it looks fun. It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy both beautiful Christmas lights and an outdoor ice rink. There are Christmas trees of various colors lit up, treats to enjoy, and special nights when Santa, Mrs. Claus, and even Buddy the Elf show up. This would be a fun one to turn into an overnight stay, and enjoy the beautiful indoor pool at the Tulalip Resort, too!
They will be open from November 22nd to January 11th this year.
Everett Waterfronts Pacific Ice Rink– Everett, WA. – This one is fun, as you can enjoy this season’s pop-up ice rink right down on the waterfront. They will have waterfront fire pits going, and free s’mores with “Fire & Ice” on Friday and Saturday night,s and meet fan-favorite movie characters on “Magical Mondays.”
Looks like this one is not happening this year.
Snohomish Valley’s Golf Centers Ice Rink – Snohomish, WA. They open a seasonal synthetic ice rink under a big tent this time of the year. This one is unique as you can enjoy golf and ice skating, as they have an on-site putting range. They also have a bar and grill, so you can have dinner out with your ice skating visit, too.
Arlington Hometown Holiday Ice Rink – Arlington, WA. This is part of their Hometown Holiday Celebration that happens annually. Not only will you find an Ice Skating Rink, but many other festivities in the area too (like a Carousel & Ferris Wheel). Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks on the Southside –
Holiday Magic Skating Rink at Washington Fair Grounds – Puyallup, WA. This ice skating rink is inside the Holiday Magic event that happens annually at the Washington Fairgrounds. For this one, you will need tickets to get into the events, plus there is a fee to skate, too. This also means that it will be a full night of fun, as you can enjoy the entire attraction, with ice skating being just one part of the festivities!
Olympias Oly On Ice – Olympia, WA. Oly on Ice hosts many special events throughout the season. Several local organizations will host family-friendly activities on select nights, including the Olympia Timberland Library, live choir performances, and Cocoa with a Cop, as well as live performances from a variety of different artists on select dates. Check their site for the schedule. They also offer special sensory-friendly skating nights.
They will be open from November 21st to January 19th this year.
Bonus – Ice Holiday Skating & Ice Bumper Cars at Sprinker Recreation Center in Tacoma. Although this one is indoors, they have special Holiday nights set up that will be festive and fun for families. There is a big Christmas tree set up in the middle of the rink, snow falling inside, a Santa mail station, and the rink is wrapped in Christmas lights. PLUS, Ice Bumper Cars will be available on select nights, too. While this is not exactly ice skating, how fun would it be to hit the ice in a bumper car? If you want to do ice skating and ice bumper cars, you can get a discount.
Bonus – Holiday Skate Times at Sno-King Ice Arena in Renton. This is also an indoor skating rink, but they do offer special Holiday “Sno-Skate Lane presented by Sno-King Ice Arenas a public skating event series that runs from December 1st to January 1st, with daily skating for all ages. Enjoy a classic holiday activity with themed skate days, special guests, plus cool giveaways.”

Downtown Bellevue Ice Rink – Bellevue, WA. The Bellevue Outdoor Ice Rink is a classic in the NW, and the largest outdoor offering this time of the year. It is located in downtown Bellevue and just one block from the Bell Square Mall. That means you can enjoy Snow Flake Lane, Pictures with Santa, and Ice Skating all in the same evening, and walk to them all. We share more ideas on enjoying the Christmas festivities in Bellevue here to plan a full evening of fun for your family.
They will be open from November 21st to January 19th this year.
Bonus – Holiday Skate Times at Sno-King Ice Arena in Kirkland & Snoqualmie. Beyond the Puget Sound Area in Washington –
Suncadia Resort Ice Skating Synthetic Rink – Cle Elum, WA. This is one of my family’s favorites because we usually enjoy this ice rink as part of a weekend getaway to Suncadia.
You do not have to stay at the resort to enjoy this rink if you just want to make a day trip up there! You can purchase tickets just to enjoy for an evening if you are in the area. There are so many other fun Winter activities at Suncadia, too. making it a great option to enjoy for an evening or as part of a weekend.
Port Angeles Winter Ice Village – This outdoor ice rink is located in Port Angeles near the dock, and the town if full of other winter fun activities, so it could make a fun getaway this time of the year, if you do not live near it!
They open on November 21st this year
Winthrop Ice Rink – they have a large outdoor ice rink used for public skates as well as skate lessons, hockey, and figure skating. This is another fun area for a getaway if you want to combine both.

Moses Lake Ice Rink – they have a large outdoor ice rink used for public skates as well as hockey.
They have announced a November 22 opening date.
Spokane Riverfront Parks Ribbon Ice Rink – Spokane, WA. If you are on the Eastside of the state or plan to head over there, the Spokane Riverfront Park offers a seasonal Ice skating rink (in the summer it turns into a roller rink). This is a family favorite for us, as it is fun to skate through the ribbon, versus just around in circles. It is also in the Spokane Riverfront Park, which offers other activities for families to enjoy (and is within walking distance to the Bark Pub where you can adopt dogs and eat a great meal)! If you want to turn this one into a getaway, here are some family-friendly Spokane hotels to consider in the area.
They will be open on November 16th this year.
Just across the border in Idaho
Coeur d’Alene in Ice, Id – I know this is no longer Washington, but if you are going to be over on the Eastside, this is just a hop across the border to enjoy. This area also makes a fun Winter getaway, and enjoying their ice rink can be part of that. Find our list of things to do in Coeur d’Alene for more ideas. One thing that is unusual about this ice rink, is that you can rent these heated igloos to enjoy for your down time, and that can make it an extra special experience.
They will be opening on November 15th this year!

Thank you so much for putting this list together! I’ve been looking everywhere for a comprehensive guide to the seasonal outdoor ice rinks, and this is the only place I’ve found it. I really appreciate the effort you put into making this resource—it’s incredibly helpful!
So glad it’s helpful for you, Maureen – hope you have a wonderful time skating!
Don’t forget there is a nice ice skating rink in Port Angeles near the ferry dock!
