Charmin 24 roll pack & Bounty 15 roll pack just $1.74 at Safeway! Tuesday only!

March 2, 2010

Welcome to Thrifty NW Mom! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe by your feed reader or by email . Make sure to become a Facebook Fan & follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!

Update: I just did this deal myself & my math was slightly off – this should be $13.48 total you’ll pay (+ tax) and then you will get the $10 catalina for your next purchase.  This means your final price (including catalina) will be $3.48 for both packs or $1.74 each.

Wow, there is a great deal going on today only (Tuesday March 2nd) for very inexpensive Charmin & Bounty at Safeway (& affiliates).  There is a Proctor & Gamble (P&G) special promotion going on where you spend $25 and get back a $10 catalina (coupon to be used on your next purchase).

Charmin & Bounty are 2 products that are included in this special promotion – but this will only work thru Tuesday March 2nd!  Also, when you buy 2 big packs of Charmin and/or Bounty, the price will drop from $12.99 to 2/$9.99 each

Here’s how it works:

Buy 1 Bounty 15 double roll pack -$12.99  (mine ended up being $13.99)

Buy 1 Charmin 24 double roll pack – $12.99 (mine ended up being $13.99 for 24 pk & price dropped at register to $9.99)

{$6 instant savings when you buy both the Charmin & Bounty big packs-price drops to $9.99/ea}

-Use $3 P&G Saver e-saver coupon (load onto your Safeway card)

-Use $3 Charmin P&G e-saver coupon (load onto your Safeway card)

-Use $.25 Bounty manufacturer’s coupon from 2/7 P&G insert

-Use $.25 Charmin coupon from 2/7 P&G

Final Price: $12.98, Receive $10 catalina from P&G promotion = $2.98 for both Charmin & Bounty or $1.49/each!!

{The price is calculated on the $12.99 original price of the Bounty & Charmin}

This is an absolutely amazing price on that much toilet paper & paper towels!! You’ll definitely want to head out today and try to take advantage of this deal if you’re anywhere near a Safeway store! I know I sure will be heading out to get this cheap toilet paper & paper towels! Something we can always use more of and we were even debating making a trip to Costco on Sunday to get really stocked up on these 2 items….but who needs Costco when you have couponing?! Right?

Let us know how this deal works for you! A number of people tried this deal Monday night with success, so hopefully it  will go smoothly for you, too!

Thank you to Bargain Blessings & Frugal Living NW for this awesome deal!

    H W all you have to do is go to pgesaver.com and sign up enter your full safeway club card number and add coupons to your club card easy to do if you have your club card number (phone number will not work). If all you have is your phone number you should call Safeway and get it from them. Remember this deal ends Tuesday March 2. Good luck should be a great deal.

    P. S. I think the deal should actually be around 13.48 those are my calculations, Thrifty N W mom just a heads up :) Thanks for all you do!!!

    Some stores have the Bounty and Charmin marked at $13.99 but those work too. However, if your store has either pack marked at $11.99 (some stores have charmin down that low) the deal will not work right without another participating filler. If that’s the case at your store you’ll want to grab a small bottle of Dawn or something. HTH someone!

    I did it at my Safeway this morning and the regular price on my Charmin & Bounty was $15.99, but when you bought both it still cut it down to $9.99, so the deal worked great!

    Does any one have the issue that the Bounty are the 12 large rolls = 16 rolls that are 12.99 marked to 9.99 if you buy 2 items? My store has no 15 roll packages. I don’t want to try it if it won’t work with these.

    Mine also started at $15.99. Once I gave my card and coupons, I looks like they each cost $9.99, so just shy of $20 and tax. I got my $10 catalina. It was more than I was planning on spending, but still a good deal.

    My store’s price was 13.99 on the shelf but on my receipt it was 9.99. It worked great for me but not a couple of my friends! Who knows why… The best part for me was that I did a partial pay at the checkout, to use up a visa gift card, and the catalina printed before I finished paying. The checker asked me if I wanted to use my catalina to pay for the rest!! Yehaaw :) 5.37 for both items!

    Beth-Yes, mine ended up being the 12 rolls of Bounty (not 15 rolls like other bloggers had mentioned). And mine were marked at $13.99 (reg price $15.99) with no signs saying that they would become $9.99. However, the price showed on the receipt – total price I paid $15.34 (w/tax) and received $10 catalina. So, final price was $5.34 for me (I used the $10 catalina on my very next purchase).

    I just tried this at the Canyon (Puyallup) store and it did not work. I took it to the Cust. Serv desk and she said it was because I didn’t spend $25. She told me to go buy 2 more to get the deal…uh, no! I’d love to know where to go locally to get in on this deal! (Tacoma/Puyallup)
    Side note: the power was out all over the Canyon area (was at Albertson’s too) but the generators were working all the registers….wondering if something happened to the Catalina machines…? Bummer.

    How long do the e-savers take to load? I tried it and they hadn’t posted yet. Site says they are being validated. That’s been since early this morning.

    Hmm, I went to the Orting Safeway early afternoon & mine worked great. All the coupons came off & got the catalina. Definitely call P&G Esaver Cust. Service if it doesn’t work or they won’t load onto your card (sounds like there’s a glitch in the system now so they won’t load). Thanks for letting us know they’ll be sending you the money back Roxanne!

    I haven’t been able to add my safeway card all day. It keeps saying “failed to update user” so I called and they said their computers were down earlier and it’s trying to “catch up”. It’s been many hours and it looks like I’m going to miss this deal. Bummer.

    Tara, I did not try it at Canyon but did at Graham. However I am still waiting for my coupons to load, I added them early this morning and still waiting. I called and they are having troubles today. But I did get them this morning without coupons and it rang in at 9.99 each and the CAT printed.

    I added the coupons this morning and they say that they are still “being validated.” I am nervous to go to the store right now (it’s about 5 PM in Tacoma, WA) in case it DOESN’T work, though I see above that someone got them to send out a check when it didn’t work. I may try later tonight, but what if they’re still not “validated?” Did anyone else go out and try to do this and the coupons went through? I just don’t want to have to call customer service and deal with it for hours :( I tried calling right now but since we’re on Pacific time, they’re already closed :(

    I tried to do this deal today in Graham. I was told that the total after all coupons, etc. had to reach $25 in participating products to get the catalina. (I don’t want anything else!) and the coupons never loaded to my card. bummer :(

    I just went and did it at the Safeway in Tacoma on 38th street. Everything worked fine the catalina and each came to $9.99 except my two $3 coupons did not come off and I didn’t catch until after I left. =( I am glad to hear that I can just call and get the reimbursement.

    Hi All -
    My e-coupons didn’t come off this morning either. I ended up calling Safeway Customer Service this afternoon. they called my store, gave them my name and told them to honor the e-coupons. I brought in my receipt and they gave me $7 in cash! If it didn’t work for you today, definitely don’t hesitate calling Safeway, it is way easier than waiting forever for P&G to send you a check!
