5 Essential Oils for Busy Moms

Each day I wake up with a laundry list of things I need to get done. As a Mom, it can get chaotic trying to maintain a household in the midst of work, caring for the kids, errands and appointments.
Being a Mom is a full-time job but the truth is I wouldn’t change it for the world. It’s these precious crazy times that make us a family; we laugh, we love and sometimes even cry. Thankfully, I’m real good at saving time, energy and resources so I’m able to get it all done and still enjoy these moments. I like to get a lot done but with as little effort as possible, especially when it comes to household chores!
One of the ways I’m able to maintain a positive mood and energy while saving precious minutes is by using essential oils throughout my home. I love that I’m able to purify the air, spruce up the laundry, disinfect and clean the house in a natural and therapeutic way. Essential oils are a great addition to any home and there are plenty to choose from; for now, I’ll cover my top 5 favorites that I like to use at my house.

Lavender:

Lavender essential oil is popular because of its versatility. Lavender is mostly known for
calming and restful sleep but can also be used as a personal deodorant, in place of dryer sheets and
infused in tea or food for added flavor. Diffuse lavender in the home to promote a sense of peace and
calm and rub on the feet of children prior to bedtime to help them settle down for a restful sleep.

Lemon:

If you’re looking for an essential oil to make DIY household cleaners that will disinfect and
leave your home smelling great, lemon essential oil is it! With its citrusy refreshing scent, lemon can
be used as an all-purpose cleaner, to polish wood furniture or used as a laundry detergent or air
freshener. Lemon essential oil makes everything smell crisp and clean.

Purification:

Young Living’s Purification blend essential oil combines 6 odor eating essential oils making it a perfect choice to combat odors from cooking, pets or damp spaces. I’m a fan of using this Purification blend in the car and diffusing in my home for a sparkling clean scent when I know company will be arriving. This aroma gives off the impression that your space is refreshingly clean even when it’s not. I think of it as my secret weapon.

Orange:

Another essential oil of the citrus family, Orange essential oil has a light sweet aroma. It’s scent boosts mood making it a great choice for daily cleaning. I prefer to use Orange essential oil in the kitchen because it works great on grease. Combine with water to use on stovetops, countertops and appliances, makes a wonderful room spray. It can be combined with other oils to be used as a natural floor cleaner helping you maintain the integrity of your flooring. Orange oil has a ton of uses making it a popular choice.

Eucalyptus:

Eucalyptus essential oil is a natural germicide. The oil works well as a deterrent for pests and can be combined with baking soda to deep clean fabrics, mattresses or stuffed animals (dry shampoo’s work best). It can easily be added to the wash cycle and is known to protect against dust mites. Eucalyptus essential oil has a clean scent and is the ideal oil for use in the bathroom.
Adding essential oils to my cleaning routine has made a positive difference for us. I’m able to save money, provide natural cleaning solutions for my family while enjoying the mood boosting properties of the oils. I get tons of compliments when I have visitors and I love being able to encourage joy in those around me.

Young Living Essential Oils New Year

There are many, many brands of essential oils available on the market including ones you can find in stores, online retailers such as Amazon & more. However, both Sia & I have extensively researched using essential oils with our family & we have decided to use Young Living essential oils. We feel so confident with them that we are selling them so that others can benefit from better wellness for their families, too, as our families have benefited in the 2+ years that we have been using them in our homes. {This is the first time in 8 years of blogging that we have ever felt passionate about a product to sell it ourselves.}

They are a bit pricier than what you’ll find in the stores, but we know that they have a very strict Seed to Seal process to ensure that they are pure, therapeutic grade oils with nothing added to them,  that we feel completely safe using with our kids & our families. If you are wanting to make your own DIY cleaners, then you want to know everything you are putting into those cleaners and with these Young Living essential oils, we know that we can trust that they have absolutely no chemicals in them.
