Wizard Of Oz: Paramount Theater In Seattle!

We are really excited to be sharing this giveaway with you, as free tickets to a stage show at the Paramount are not easy to come by, and this looks like a really good one! This has been one of my favorite movies since I was young, and the costume and set look amazing.

The stage adaptation of  WIZARD OF OZ is coming to the Paramount, from Oct 9 – 13, and we have two tickets for Orchestra Level seats (some of the best seats in the house!!) to give one Thrifty NW Mom Reader!  These start at approximately $70 per ticket, so this giveaway is valued at $140 +! If you like theater – this looks like an amazing show to see. The tickets will be good for the 10/10 show at 1pm.

Click your heels together and join Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Dorothy and her little dog Toto, as they journey through the magical land of Oz to meet the Wizard and obtain their hearts’ desires. Watch out for the Wicked Witch of the West and her winged monkeys as you rediscover the real story of Oz in this fantastic musical treat for all the family. The description of the show is already making my head spin with so many images of the original movie (like the winged monkeys grabbing Dorothy and crew, and flying off with them!). I cannot wait to see how these things are re-inacted on the stage! And the colors from this movie – they are fantastic. The images so far lead me to believe that the stage version will NOT dissappoint!

More information about The WIZARD OF OZ:

The first North American tour of the new stage adaptation of THE WIZARD OF OZ will perform at The Paramount Theatre from Wednesday, October 9 through Sunday, October 13 as part of the KeyBank Broadway at The Paramount series. 

THE WIZARD OF OZ is an enchanting adaptation of the all-time classic.Developed from the ever popular MGM screenplay, this new production contains all the beloved Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg songs from the Oscar®-winning movie score, all the favorite characters and iconic moments, plus a few surprises along the way, including new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. 

The schedule for the Seattle engagement is:

Wednesday, October 9 –  7:30pm
Thursday, October 10 – 1:00 pm and 7:30pm
Friday, October 11 – 8:00pm
Saturday, October 12 – 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm
Sunday, October 13 – 1:00pm – An ASL / AVIA Interpreted performance and 6:30pm – An Open Caption performance

Tickets for THE WIZARD OF OZ start at $25 and are available on-line at stgpresents.org, tickets.com, and select Ticketmaster locations. Tickets are also available by calling 877-STG-4TIX (784-4849) or in person at The Paramount Theatre Box Office (Monday through Friday, 10am to 6pm).

  43. It is also great when you like the Paramount Facebook page and get all the upcoming shows right at your fingertips, no searching needed. I grew up watching the Wizard of Oz and always get a great laugh at my dad when he tells me how scared he was when it first came out in black and white, yep he’s that old! I had no clue being spoiled with color tv, my favorite character was the Scarecrow and definately the Lion such humor in them.

  358. Since I first saw it as a child I loved the Tin Man. I so badly wanted him to have a heart. My little girl loves Toto and Glenda, (even though Glenda is a good witch she looks like a princess to her!).
