Pierce County Restaurant Rally – 30% off Participating Restaurants for 2 Weeks!

There is a unique & creative way that Pierce County has put together for us to support area restaurants hit hard by closures & lower revenues this year – they are offering 2 weeks of a 30% discount on your entire bill before tax for diners for dine-in and takeout at participating restaurants. This is to encourage diners to support local restaurants who really need our support!

Participating restaurants will be compensated for 50% of gross sales (with the exclusion of alcohol & sales via 3rd party delivery services). So, this will be a huge help to them when you dine in or do takeout (pick up the order, though, you will not get the discount if you order thru delivery thru services such as UberEats, Doordash, GrubHub, etc).

The Pierce County Restaurant Rally program was established as part of a Pierce County Emergency Ordinance with the Tacoma – Pierce County Chamber, Washington Hospitality Association & Travel Tacoma Mt Rainier partnering together to support these restaurants & create the Pierce County Restaurant Rally. Participating restaurants are full-service restaurants that have been significantly impacted, so they will be able to receive this funding from the Pierce County Federal CARES Act.

The Pierce County Restaurant Rally starts in just a few days – 30% off your entire bill (dine in or take out) at participating restaurants! What a great way to support your favorite restaurants or such a perfect opportunity to try out some new restaurants too, which I am excited to do!

There are over 200 restaurants participating, so you’re sure to find a restaurant you love & these next two weeks are the time to support as many as you can!

Here are the dates of the restaurant rally:

*November 8th – 12th
*November 15th – 19th

Here are some of the participating restaurants:

Find a list of participating restaurants in Pierce County

  • Anthony’s at Point Defiance (& Gig Harbor)
  • Asado
  • Bar Bistro
  • Cactus Proctor (check out my Instagram post for details about their awesome outdoor dining – even on the cold rainy days, this worked great!)
  • Crockett’s Public House
  • Farm 12 (this is one of my absolute favorites & dining at this restaurant supports the Step by Step ministry)
  • El Gaucho Tacoma
  • Farrelli’s Pizza
  • HG Bistro
  • Mama Stortini’s
  • Katie Downs
  • Lobster Shop
  • Matador Tacoma
  • McMenamins Elk Temple
  • And much more….

(There are also chain national restaurants located in Pierce County included as well, but I’d encourage you to really seek out local restaurants who are struggling the most to stay open & survive right now, so we don’t see any further restaurant closures (such as The Swiss & Pacific Grill a few mos ago! :( )

Tips for Dining during the Restaurant Rally:

Tipping – it’s really important that you still tip on the full amount, not the 30% discounted amount. This is the case with any time you get a discount, if you were using an Entertainment book with Buy 1 Get 1 Free offers, etc – always tip on the full amount of the bill

Dine In or Takeout – They are offering this option for both dine in & takeout dinners, so everyone can support them. Just make sure to not use a 3rd party delivery service (Doordash, UberEats, etc) as you will not receive the discount as this program is strictly to support these restaurants that are struggling

Check out the Social Media for the Restaurant – some restaurants may even be offering some special food offers & extra discounts (like extended Happy Hour)  for those who are dining during this time period of the restaurant rally, so you might even be able to take advantage of more savings or special items on the menu, etc

  1. Do you need a coupon code or is it just automatic when you order your food at one of the participating restaurants?

    1. It looks like it will be automatic, I have not seen any details about needing a coupon code, but I would confirm with your server when you sit down to make sure they don’t forget.
