Emerald Downs On Groupon + Family Day Free Entertainment

Here is a fun and affordable summer outing for the Family at Emerald Downs. Emerald Downs is a horse race track in Auburn Wa., but there is plenty to do for those who are interested in more then just horse races.
To start with Groupon is selling tickets into the Emerald Downs, plus a program and $10 food voucher for $10. This is a great deal, because it costs $7 just to get in – so this is like a free $7 in food (and you can make it stretch with $3 slices of pizza).
Best part is that you only need to purchase the Groupons for the adults in your party. Veterans and attendees aged 17 and younger receive free admission on any day, and seniors get in free on Thursday.
Head out to use your vouchers on a Sunday for Family Fun Day, and get tons of free entertainment options too! Family Days include a moonwalk, pony rides, face painters and other free activities on Sundays from June 17 through September 3.
We have attended a family fun day, and the whole crew had a blast. There are lots of grassy areas, we just set up a blanket and picnic to relax at. You can watch the races, take the kids down to view the horses up close on in person, enjoy free pony rides, bouncy houses, arts and crafts and stage entertainment (they had a jump roping show while we were there, and it was interactive. They gave the kids ropes and taught them new trips).
Parking is free if you park in their far lot. They have a bus that will pick you up, and my kids got a kick out of that too.
My recommendations. Go on a nice day, and go early. Enjoy the popular activities (like bouncys and face painting) before it gets too crowded (and it can get crowded), and then relax on the lawn for the rest of the afternoon!
