Discount Ski Tickets for Military & Veterans – 1/2 Price Tickets on April 13th

We were down near Timberline Lodge at Mt Hood last weekend and I saw a flyer sharing about the special Armed Forces Appreciation Day on Sunday April 13th, 2014.  The Timberline Ski Area will be offering 1/2 price Lift  tickets to active duty military & dependents, reserve military & honorably discharged veterans.  You will need to bring your valid military ID or VA proof of eligibility.

This is a rare opportunity to get a discount on ski lift tickets, so definitely take advantage if you’re military or a veteran. Lift tickets for adults are $62 for an all-day pass, so that’s just $31/ticket for adults. Let us know if you hear of any other ski resorts participating in this type of promotion. Timberline is an awesome place to ski right there on top of Mt Hood with a close-up view of this majestic mountain!

As I said, I was just up at Mt Hood last week for a few days (I’ll be sharing more about the area in a few days) and I forgot how much I love this area, especially for skiing & winter sports. There are 3 ski resorts all within 10-15 minutes of each other & many other fun winter sports options. The best part is that you don’t have to deal with the mountain passes closing or too much snow to drive in as the drive to Mt Hood is not nearly as steep or as difficult  as most of the NW ski locations with all the rain/snow we’ve gotten in the last month or so. There’s no need for chains on your vehicles or worrying about getting there as it’s a much easier drive to get up to Mt Hood – only an hour away from Portland & only 3 hours away from Seattle.  So definitely a great location to head to for this event & even to stay for the weekend & enjoy all the area has to offer!
