Endangered Species Weekend at Northwest Trek

Northwest Trek is having a number of special events & activities this weekend for Endangered Species weekend on Saturday July 19th & Sunday July 20th. This event spotlights the animal species’ in peril but also celebrates the role of all animals in the Northwest. You’ll get to participate in fun events for both kids & adults all weekend long!

Learn how to survive as an animal in the wild, make an animal mask (grizzly bear, Northern Spotted Owl or raccoon) and more fun crafts & games available. You can participate in a game wearing your animal mask all around NW Trek & answering questions about the wildlife to receive a prize at the end.

It is also baby season at Northwest Trek, so you should have the opportunity to see a few of the dozen baby animals born this spring & summer in the Free Roaming Area. The tram ride is a 50 minute ride through the 435 acre Free Roaming area.  Hours at Northwest Trek are 9:30am – 6pm.
We love heading to Northwest Trek in the summertime as it’s a great way to beat the heat (there is so much shade out there that you can head there on a hot day & it won’t feel nearly as hot as elsewhere). We can stay there all day between the 50 minute tram ride, visiting all the animals in the walking tour area, eating a picnic lunch, checking out the Family Discovery Center for awhile (puppets, little crafts & coloring, & more) and more!

  3. I love NW Trek and haven’t been in a long time. I would really love to go again soon! All the baby animals have been born and are out and about, it would be amazing to go and see them.

  6. I want to win these tickets so my family can enjoy Northwest Trek together for the first time. I went as a child, but the rest of my family has never been. My husband will enjoy getting out of the house, and my toddler will love all the animals, and my newborn – well she just wants to be with us. lol Getting out of the house never seems to happen much for us and family time is precious!
