Blyth Park

Blyth Park – Bothell, WA

The Pacific Northwest is filled with many opportunities to get your kids out and active on a budget. At the top of that list are the many parks we have throughout the Northwest. These include National Parks, State Parks, Neighborhood Parks, Water Parks, Lakes, Skate Parks and more! Lets face it though, not all parks are created equal. Not every family is looking for the same thing in a park outing, and different parks appeal to different ages. Some are all day outings, and some are perfect for a short outing.

We are back with a series of park reviews, so you will have some more detailed info when planning a day of frugal park fun for your family. We’re excited to have readers share their favorite parks with all of us, too, so we can learn about even more parks to add to our summer lists.

If you’d like to share your favorite park, submit a park review through our form and if we use your review, we will send you a $10 Amazon Gift Card.

We would also love to hear your thoughts and opinions on these parks. Please comment below with your review, additional tips, or anything else you want to add.

We also post a weekly Frugal Family Fun roundup, of each week’s best and most affordable entertainment and event options for families. Be sure to check that out for more ideas on what to do on a budget!

Blyth Park:

Blyth Park Playground

Blyth Park was once a factory & now is Bothell’s largest park at over 40 acres. It is a very popular spot for holding a group picnic, with two reservable, covered picnic shelters and BBQ’s. There is also a play structure for kids at Blyth Park, as well as Sammamish River access.

Highlights: (Favorite aspects of the park)

  • Picnic shelters that you can reserve {contact Bothell Parks & Recreation}
  • Onsite free parking
  • Great for groups
  • Barbecues available
  • Restrooms at park

Things To Know: (fees, parking availability, are there bathroom facilities, what to bring)

Even though it’s touted as Bothell’s largest park, it’s one of those out-of-the-way spots that may take a little searching on your part to find. It’s located near Bothell Landing and the Burke-Gilman trail so after you take a walk or ride your bicycles, you can hop back in the car and drive to Blyth for a picnic, volleyball, or simply hanging out with the kids on the playground equipment.

Recommended for ages:

0 – 100 – any age would love it!

Location:

Blyth Park is located along the Sammamish River & Sammamish River Trail. Blyth Park is located at 16950 W. Riverside Drive in Bothell, WA.

Review:

Even people who have lived in the area for a long time may not know Blyth exists, which makes it a great place for you to hang out as long as you’d like. It’s easy to get to (once you know where you’re going), and it’s easy to make a day of it. Restrooms, free/ample parking, picnic shelters, bbqs, etc.

It’s located near Bothell Landing and the Burke-Gilman trail,  so after you take a walk or ride your bicycles on the paved path, you can hop back in the car and drive to Blyth for a picnic, volleyball, or simply hang out with the kids on the playground equipment.
