I have been seeing some good deals on the Silk Fruit & Protein drinks in my local stores (after $1 off coupon), but had not tried it out myself until I was asked to participate in a blogging program by Social Moms to learn more about Silk Fruit & Protein drinks.

As my family starts to prepare for back to school routines, one thing I am always looking for are quick and nutritious breakfast options. Getting more protein into my kids morning diets has been a challenge for us. One thing my kids do love is juice in the morning. So when I learned that Silk’s Fruit & Protein beverage launched nationally last year as an alternative to juice I was eager to test it out on my family!

I was a little nervous to be honest, as my youngest (she turns 5 in two days) does not eat much meat, and my oldest has a peanut allergy (so nut butters are not an option for getting her more protein), so I have been feeling the pressure to get more protein in her diet specifically. She does love all things berries, so we went with the Silk Fruit & Protein Mixed Berry blend. It went over well, not only with the kids, but also my husband (he likes the Strawberry Banana flavor).

Not only is it a great source of protein, but its also an excellent source of Calcium, Vitamin D, & Vitamin C, so now I don’t have to feel so guilty when my kids just want a quick piece of toast in the morning. I will now give them their toast and a glass of the Silk Fruit & Protein, and feel good about sending them out the door to school!

Its also nice for me. I usually brew myself of pot of coffee in the morning, and don’t eat real food until lunch time. Now, I have will remind myself to pour a small cup for myself when I pour one for the kids, and let it help sustain me until lunch much better then just my usual cup of Joe does (love it as I don’t have to cut out my favorite coffee, can just add it to the morning routine when I am getting the kids set up!).

Our favorite flavors include: Fruit & Protein with Mixed Berry, Strawberry Banana. You will find the Silk Fruit & Protein products near other Silk and plant-based-beverages, such as soy or almond milk, not in the juice section, in most grocery stores. They come in half gallon packages, so keep your eye out for that. Find a store in your area where you can purchase this product here!

You can print a coupon good for  $1-off on their Facebook page too (be sure to “like” them to get your coupon!).

  1. Hey Sia,

They also go really well in smoothies. Our favorite flavor is the Silk & Protein Mango Peach flavor, or mixed berry. We like to make fruit and spinach smoothies out of it. I blend up ice, berries or fruit (whatever is in season, mostly frozen berries though), a banana, a handful of fresh Spinach (trust me, kids won’t even taste it), and Silk Fruit & Protein. It makes a creamy, tasty smoothie that everyone in my family enjoys!
