More about Evita:

You undoubtedly know “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina.” Now, see the musical it comes from, Evita, when Stumptown Stages brings the incredible true story of Eva Perón, the controversial first lady of Argentina, to the stage. Fusing dramatic chorales with exuberant Latin, pop and jazz, this Tony-winning musical follows a peasant girl who uses her considerable smarts to rise from the slums of Argentina to become the wife of the President and a powerful advocate for the working class. Experience this modern classic from the Broadway Dream Team of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice at Brunish Theatre at Antoinette Hatfield Hall in Portland.
