Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers Recipe – Delicious!

Description

These creamy and delicious bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers are perfect for any game day spread – or just because! You will not be disappointed with this recipe.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage – mild or spicy
  • 12 oz cream cheese
  • 12 Jalapeños
  • 12 strips of center cut bacon
  • 1 TBLSP of brown sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese


Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Brown sausage over medium high heat, drain the fat. 
  3. Add cream cheese to the sausage mix and stir until well blended and melted.  Add cheese and stir again. Set aside. 
  4. Cut the stems from jalapeños, slice jalapeño lengthwise down the center and remove seeds (recommend using food prep gloves to avoid absorbing the jalapeño heat).
  5. Slice the 12 pieces of bacon in half (for wrapping the jalapeño).
  6. Using a small spoon, scoop the sausage and cream cheese mix into each jalapeño popper.
  7. Wrap each jalapeño with 1 slice of the halved bacon, place on baking sheet.  Two rows of 12 with jalapeños touching works best. 
  8. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the poppers, mostly on the bacon.
  9. Bake for 45-55 minutes at 375 degrees until the jalapeños become soft and the bacon has browned. 
  10. Let cool slightly, serve and enjoy!
