Description

This DIY Peanut Butter is simple, frugal & healthy to make for your family. You can use any nut to make your own nut butter at home to save more.

Ingredients

Scale

Peanuts (16 oz of unsalted dry roasted peanuts)  – the amount you use will vary depending on how large your container is & how much you want to make at a time

1 teaspoon of salt (if you prefer)

For Almond Butter: Almonds

For Cashew butter: Cashews

You will need a high powered mini chopper or Cuisinart or good blender, as well as containers for storing the peanut butter.  I used a food processor for this recipe, but I have also used a Vitamix, too.

Instructions

All you do is add the nuts to the chopper.
If you desire a little salt if your nuts are unsalted, you can add those.
Add the nuts then pulse a few times.
Let it mix for about 4-6 minutes depending on the power of the chopper you are using.  At first, it will not be smooth, but just keep on blending.
It will go from chunky, to globby, to semi smooth, to liquidy smooth. Just be patient as the time could vary depending on which type of appliance you are using.
