The Woodland Park Zoo is honoring active & retired military members & service professionals (firefighter, police & emergency medical services personnel) by providing FREE admission to the zoo this weekend on Saturday September 10th & Sunday September 11th. All you need to do is bring valid service identification to get in free to the zoo on either Saturday or Sunday. The zoo will be open 9:30 am – 6pm on Saturday & Sunday.
Family members & friends of these service members can also get half-price admission to the zoo on these dates as well. Up to 6 guests who accompany the service member to the zoo, with valid ID, can get 1/2 price admission. (I did read on the Woodland Park Zoo Facebook page that if your spouse is deployed, you can still get the 1/2 price admission price as long as someone in the party has a valid military ID.
Zoo admission thru September 30th costs $17.50 for teens & adults (ages 13-64) & $11.50 for children ages 3-12.
Thanks Centsible in Seattle!
New Military Discount:
The Woodland Park Zoo is also launching an ongoing military discount for families. Starting on September 12th, active & retired US military members can get $5 off zoo admission at any zoo gate, by showing your valid military ID. These discount tickets previously were only available on the military bases, but you can now take advantage of the discount right at the zoo gates.
Cabela’s Event: For those of you in the South Sound area, make sure to check out the Military Appreciation Day at Cabela’s on Saturday September 10th.
There’s also a Military Appreciation Picnic on Saturday September 10th in Oak Harbor, WA, to honor military members. This event is from 12-4pm in Windjammer Park.
