We wanted to remind you all that this coming Saturday, May 11th, is the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers. Hopefully you received a white plastic bag in your mailbox this week to give you the details about the event, but in case you didn’t, I wanted to share this information with you so you could participate.
The Stamp Out Hunger event is an event to collect items from your pantry so that the letter carriers can then donate those items to local organizations serving those who are facing hunger in our local areas. It’s hard to believe, but 1 in 6 people in America are facing hunger. This is a simple yet very effective way to support these local organizations helping to combat hunger in America, by going thru your pantry to donate. It’s the perfect time for couponers especially to go thru your stockpile & donate items you find that you’re not using or that you were able to buy multiples of to be able to bless others.
Here’s what to do:
Go thru your stockpile & pantries to see what canned food & non-perishable items you can donate. Just make sure to not include anything in a glass container or that is expired.
Set out your bag (s) by the mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up when they bring the mail.
