As I’ve mentioned before, I worked in the education field for a number of years before staying home with my kids and my husband is a high school teacher, so I am always keeping my eye out for deals for educators!! Here’s a last-minute deal for all of you who are educators out there::

Office Max is offering Teacher Appreciation Day today, Sunday, August 9th! All teachers who show a teacher ID will get a free tote and then 15% off anything they can fit into that tote bag!! See all the details here and all the participating stores (you have to look for your city alphabetically) – if your particular store is not listed, you may want to still call and see if it is taking place, though! Make sure to sign up for Max Perks, the Teacher Reward program HERE.

If you’re not a teacher, you can still head to Office Max tomorrow to check out all the awesome back-to-school deals HERE! I’ll try to get this into a list form in the next day or two! The highlights are 1 subject notebooks for 1cent (limit 3), Rulers – 5 cents (limit 3), Crayola Crayons, 24 pk – 20 cents.

Here is a list of other stores with Teacher Appreciation Days coming up::

Staples:: They will also be offering a Teacher Appreciation Day, however, the day will vary depending on your location. You can check out when the date will be by going HERE and typing in your city and state. It says they will have a free gift bag for the first 100 teachers as well as earning $2 for every $1 you spend (Teacher Rewards Bonus Season). The event for my local store is Saturday, August 22nd from 9-12pm. Make sure to sign up for the Teacher Rewards program HERE.

Office Depot:: They will have a Teacher Appreciation Week where you can get 10% off your purchases all week long and then that Saturday there will be a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast. Go HERE to find the dates of when this will take place in your area! For my area in Pierce County, WA, the Teacher Appreciation Week is August 16th – 22nd and the breakfast will take place on Saturday, August 22nd from 9am – 11pm! The breakfast will include giveaways, bonus rewards, and of course, free breakfast! If you’d like to get a text reminder for this event, text “TAB” to Depot (33768). You do need to be a “Star” teacher to participate in these events, but you can sign up here!

Remember, that all of these stores have Teacher Reward Programs you can sign up for, which are really helpful for the big back-to-school sales especially as you can often buy more items (if there’s a limit on the items with the *hot* prices). For example, a few weeks ago, my husband bought pencils at Staples for 1 cent each–there was a limit of maybe 2 per person (I think)–but he was able to buy 25 by showing his Teacher Rewards card!

Also, if you’re a homeschool parent, check with each of these stores to see if you can participate in these events as well!!

Let me know if I forgot about any stores with Teacher Appreciation Days coming up and I’ll add them to my list!! And if you head out tomorrow to Office Max, let us know if you snag some great deals!! They have some great back-to-school deals you can see HERE!!

  1. Hi Jen. I went to Office Maxx today and they did honor the sale for homeschhol parents, as long as you have some sort of proof. (I used my Barnes & Noble Educator Card).
And, oh my goodness, you totally have me hooked after four days. Wow! And all I was searching for was a simple Old Navy coupon. Now today I have come home with a TON of food and supplies, $21 in rebate coupons, and all for $14 out of pocket. I need a bigger pantry…
    Thank you!

  2. Great post…also just wanted to let you know I linked to your site from latest article on examiner.com since you are one of the premier NW experts :-). Not huge amounts of traffic yet, but oh well…
