I just wanted to take a brief moment to find out if any of you are still having trouble with the new WordPress site. Leave a comment or send me an email if you’re still having any issues.
RSS Feed Issue:
For those of you who signed up for the RSS Feeds – you may need to add the subscription again. I have heard from several people that the feed stopped working in Feedburner, and I just found this was the case for myself as well. All you need to do is click HERE and get signed up again so that the Thrifty NW Mom blog posts will go directly into your reader (Google Reader, Yahoo Reader, etc).
Several of you have asked about my list of favorite NW Blogs and overall favorite blogs. I actually moved this to a tab button, so it would be a little cleaner on the sidebar area. It’s now under the top tab “Resources” and then click on “Blogroll / Links”. I have only listed my Favorite NW Blogs for now (as I ran out of time last week)…but I will be listing my favorite overall blogs on there as well very soon! This is a great resource for you to use as it’s a good idea to follow several different blogs since there are SO many deals out there and it’s impossible for one or two blogs to highlight all of them!
I have also had several questions the last few months regarding the daily email newsletter. Several people have asked if that could be sent more frequently during the day to keep up with the hot deals that often are only 1 day deals! Unfortunately, this is an automated email system and it typically sends out the daily email around 9am pst/noon est. However, all of the deals that I post after about 8:30am pst will not be posted until the next daily email. I wish there was a system that would send the emails more frequently – but there are 2 great options so you never miss a *hot* deal!!
1) Become a Thrifty NW Mom Facebook Fan – I try to post most of the deals (especially the time-sensitive deals) on this site. So, you can see this information right away – it’s also very helpful as readers will comment on how the deal is working, whether or not the freebies are still available, etc!
2) Subscribe via RSS thru a Reader like Google Reader, Yahoo reader, etc. This is basically a place where you can subscribe to a number of blogs but go to one location to read all the posts, arranged in order of “most recent”. This is what I use to read the bargain blogs I subscribe to. There is a slight delay of a half hour to an hour of when the posts will update, but it is still a great option to check throughout the day.
Thank you all for your patience as we’ve had to make a few adjustments (and still will, I’m sure)! My designer, Lauren, has been awesome answering all of my endless questions & making sure everything is running smoothly for all of you!
