We’ve been using Mint.com for several years now & my husband Ben really likes this free, online program. Since he uses it more regularly, I thought I’d have him share what this FREE online budget software & money management tool is all about:
Mint.com is an extremely useful website that looks at your financial information and shows you how you are spending your money. It is very easy, and you don’t have to download anything. Mint immediately pulls in your balances, purchases, stock trades, etc. to give you a complete picture of your finances. Mint connects securely to nearly all US banking financial institutions that have Internet banking capability, saving you hours of tedious data entry.
Mint.com calculates your average spending in any category, and can turn it into a budget with one click. Compare your spending year-to-year or month-to-month. Rollover extra cash each month. For example, over Christmas, it told us that we spent $100 more in food for December than the previous months. This way we were able to make adjustments for our budget to compensate.
Mint.com make it really easy with lots of different graphs, and a very simple interface. They use the same banking technology that your bank uses for its online features, so you know it is secure. I only learned about it after PC Magazine rated it the top online financial website. It has since been recommended by many others, including Cnet.com.
So, what is your favorite tool to help you manage your budget? Are there any other online tools you would recommend?
