I’m so excited to tell you about  this new opportunity coming to many Northwest locations in the next few weeks.  Zaycon Foods is a Washington-based company that delivers fresh, quality meats & other products to consumers around the Northwest at wholesale prices.  They bring their meat products directly from the farm to the consumers, so that all meat is fresh, never frozen.  The reason they are able to do this is thru their unique system of delivering the meat to specific areas around the Northwest to large groups of consumers buying these products in bulk.  In October & November, Zaycon Foods will be coming to a number of new locations around the Northwest & providing fresh, boneless, skinless chicken breasts for just $1.48/lb.  This is 100% fresh, natural chicken with no added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients.  The owner of Zaycon Foods, JC Conrad, spent over 10 years in the grocery industry, with much of that time spent as a meat department manager & store manager.  So, he knows how to look for high-quality meat to pass on to his customers.

The Chicken:

I was given the opportunity to try out Zaycon’s chicken, so I could share my thoughts with all of you.  I have to admit I was a bit skeptical because I am very picky about boneless, skinless chicken.  I like it to be very fresh & tender – and I have to say that Zaycon’s chicken was excellent! It definitely passed my high standards! This is very high quality chicken & even though it comes untrimmed (which is why they’re able to keep costs down, bringing it straight from the farm), there was actually very little fat that we even needed to trim off.  It arrived during my week of headaches, so my sweet husband went to work trimming all the chicken & placing it into ziploc bags in the portions that we needed for our family. It probably took him about an hour and a half or so to get it all trimmed & bagged to put into our freezer. We also took the opportunity to toss in some marinade as well (like some of that free BBQ sauce & Kraft dressing that was in abundance this summer). Well worth that time spent!  Next time, I think we’re going to definitely cut some of the chicken up into strips or chunks to make it even easier for meal setup.  We are definitely going to be ordering at least a case for the Fall Chicken Event thru Zaycon Foods.

Fall Chicken Event:

For this special chicken event  this fall, Zaycon Foods will be selling the chicken in 40 lb cases, with 4 bags of 10  lbs each inside. The chicken is priced at $1.48/lb, which makes it just $59.20 per 40 lb case.  This is seriously a STOCK-UP price!! You will not find a cheaper price in the grocery stores!  Zaycon Foods will be making deliveries to specific Northwest locations several times a year, so you want to stock up as they won’t be back again until the springtime most likely.  A 40 lb case will most likely provide about 12-14 meals for a family of 6 & even more for a family of four.  If you don’t foresee using as much chicken or don’t have the freezer space, you could always go in with another family or two to split the orders.  Since they are separated into 10 lb bags inside the box, that makes it much easier to share orders with friends or family.

Northwest Locations & Ordering for Chicken Delivery:

You  can see the locations {pictured above} for the Fall Chicken Event for Zaycon Foods.  They are coming to a number of areas around the Northwest at the end of October thru middle of November.  For the Tacoma & Puyallup area, they will be here on Friday November 12th.  Once you register with Zaycon Foods, you can see the specific dates & times that they will be in the various locations.   The best part – it’s a quick drive-thru process & you don’t even have to get out of the car! I love that part (especially as a parent of 2 young children – getting them in & out of the carseats always is a long process)!

If you don’t yet see your location listed, make sure to register at Zaycon Foods, so you’ll be signed up for the email newsletter & tell all your friends & family in your area to sign up, too. When Zaycon Foods sees there is large interest in a specific area, then they will consider adding that location to one of their events.

How to Order the Chicken:

  • Head to Zaycon Foods & register your email.
  • You will then be able to see the various locations & choose a location near you. It will show the specific dates & pickup times for the Fall Chicken Event.
  • Order your cases of chicken (there is no limit to how much you can buy). If you’re unable to pickup the chicken & want someone else to pick it up, you can specify that in the order instructions.
  • You can pay by check or credit card.
  • When you’re finished with your order, print off your receipt or order confirmation & bring it with you when you go pick up your chicken.

*Zaycon Foods will also send you an email 2 days prior to pickup to remind you about picking up your order of chicken.

Now, it’s time for our exciting giveaway! All you need to do is be able to pick up your box of chicken when they come to your nearest location in the next few weeks.

  142. I love Zaycon’s chicken! I bought a case last year and split it with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. If you do not want a full case, go in on it with someone else. This year I am going to freeze a full case myself if it will fit in my freezer. When my husband travels for work, he will BBQ a ton of chicken for me before he leaves. Then I can eat it throughout the week. That saves me time and energy, especially as I am taking care of my 3 children (ages 3, 2 and 6 months) while he is gone.

I doubt I could buy a case right now since were using food stamps but once I go back to work and get into a rhythm of what meals we like the best I love the idea of making freezer meals. Cooking with a newborn has been near impossible but if I had a few recipes planned that I knew would keep well in the freezer I could get help from a friend for one evening and be set for a month since the baby wouldn’t need her own serving yet this would go at least that far as premade meals for the two of us spaced out with some salmon and other meals in between. I wish I had done that before she was born… I thought I would be cooking more since I would be home for 3 months but I think I have only cooked 2 or 3 meals while trying to feed my ever-hungry slow to gain weight daughter!   273. My favorite Chicken Dish is Chicken Tacos! You simply place 4 chicken breasts in a your crock pot with a package of chicken taco seasoning, sherd after 4-5 hours, then build your tacos/burrittos the way you like. I usually use McCormick Seasoning.
