If you’re looking for a healthy breakfast when you’re on the go, smoothies are a great option.  Not only are they a yummy treat in the mornings, but it’s a great way to get in more fruit into your diet.  Yoplait Frozen Smoothies are a quick & easy way to make smoothies & each package contains one fullserving of fruit. They contain 110-120 calories per serving, too. Yoplait  now has a new flavor available to try as well – Blueberry Pomegranate, along with the other flavors: Triple Berry, Strawberry Banana, & Strawberry Mango Pineapple.

The Yoplait Frozen Smoothies are so fast to make that quick breakfast when you’re running off to work or taking the kids to school in the morning.  All you need to do is add milk & blend in a blender & you’re ready to go!  I was sent a Kitchen Aid blender to try out these smoothies & they even have a special “smoothie” button to make it even easier! I loved how super simple it was – open the bag, pour the fruit/frozen yogurt into the blender. Add a cup of milk. Mix it up in the blender. Voila- a yummy smoothie for a morning treat!  I only wish the bags had been bigger as it only provides 2 servings in each bag – so you definitely want to keep your eye out for a good sale. But, the taste is worth it, that’s for sure! Mmm…

{It would actually make 2 full glasses but we had to sample it first! :) }

I make up different kinds of smoothies, but my newest favorite is blueberry/pomegranite juice, frozen banana’s and a heaping handful of fresh spinach. Even my picky little grandaughter loves it. For added health you can add flax meal. It gives it a nutty taste. I make smoothies so musch that I burned out a blender and am working on my second one.

Strawberries and bananas of course!

Lindsey January 11, 2011 at 8:08 PM

I love just throwing in whatever I have on hand to make a smoothie. Usually yogurt, any fruit I have hanging around, & whatever kind of juice is in the pitcher. It’s hard to go wrong!

Blueberries and strawberries and great–especially if you can get them during the growing season on sale and freeze them in batches for the winter months.

I had Weight Loss surgery in March of 2010 and I have come to love smoothies… I LOVE LOVE LOVE, to mix up strawberries and banana’s (I normally buy the fruit at the Farmer’s Market and cut it up and freeze it) I mix it with juice. Sometimes I mix it up with milk for a kind of ice cream smoothie. I put in protein powder (vanilla flavor) to give me the protein I need and a little bit more flavor.. My blender is about to die so a new one would be nice to have..

I make a smoothie for my 2 year old every day since she refuses to eat much dairy…it is my tricky way to sneak some whole fat yogurt into her diet. My favorite recipe is: 1 c. strawberries, 1 ripe banana, 2 scoops protein powder (vanilla), 1/2 c. juice (orange is great!) and 1/2-3/4 c vanilla yogurt. Blend and enjoy!

i love using the frozen mango slices from Trader Joe’s in all sorts of combos!

Jennifer January 11, 2011 at 8:42 PM

Ripe bananas, plain yogurt and a little vanilla are must have’s. Everything else just depends on what I have on hand. Frozen berries (blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, cranberries) and some healthy extras like wheat germ, spinach or cabbage complete the meal!

Yvonne January 11, 2011 at 8:43 PM

I love mango, honey and yogurt smoothies! :)

We make up smoothies regularly – one of our favorites is made with vanilla yogurt, frozen banana, frozen blueberries, and cranberry pomegranite juice! The kids have these for after school snacks often!

Alicia January 11, 2011 at 9:38 PM

We like to make blueberry, strawberry & banana smoothies, with vanilla yogurt, a splash of orange juice and a half-scoop of ground flax seed :) Secondary: Mango strawberry smoothies with some fresh lime juice and a squirt of honey.
