Tomorrow, Friday September 28th & Saturday September 29th, Albertsons stores along with Northwest Harvest, Project Beauty Share & KXLY ABC4 are holding the 3rd annual Spare a Square Toilet Paper Drive this weekend. They are trying to collect at least 25,000 rolls of toilet paper for greater Spokane families in need. You can follow along & see how many rolls they are receiving by following @NWHarvest & @TPDrive on Twitter. For more information about the Spare A Square Toilet Paper Drive, contact Julie Delaney, Northwest Harvest community engagement manager at 509-294-2172 or julied@northwestharvest.org.

Toilet paper is not often something that people think to donate to food banks, but as you can imagine, it’s in great demand as there is always a need for it! The food banks are unable to keep up with the demand & toilet paper is one of the items that can’t be purchased with food stamps. Most agencies are only able to supply families with 2 rolls of toilet paper a month. This is something that was eye-opening to me as I didn’t realize there was such a high need & I often forget about this item as something they are in great need of for food bank donations.

We have a list of drop-off locations & times listed below, but if you are unable to drop off toilet paper on these two days, you can also send a text to donate $10 to be applied toward the purchase of toilet paper.
