I hit up the mall yesterday after a hair appointment for some much-needed retail therapy & time to check out some of the fabulous sales going on right now. I thought I’d share my deals with you & to show you how these retail coupons can really make a difference in your bottom line, too!
Bath & Body Works:
Total Spent: $38.29 for 22 items or $1.70/each
First up was Bath & Body Works where their Semi-Annual sale is going on thru Sunday July 8th. My mom had told me that they had a lot more selection of items in the 75% off section & boy was she right! I missed the last semi-annual sale in December, so I definitely wanted to stock up on little gifts for the year. The larger Signature Collection items were $11 normally but 75% off, so I paid just $2.75/ea for those & they make great gifts for Christmas, birthdays, you name it.
Here’s what I got:
- 4 Signature Collection bath gels/lotion – $2.75/ea or $11 for 4 (the price of 1 normally – $11/ea, 75% off)
- Small bath gels/lotions – $1.25/ea (normally $5, 75% off)= $13.75 for 11
- 2 candles – $2.38/ea (normally $9.50/ea, 75% off = $4.76 for 2
- 5 Pocket-Bac anti-bacterial gels – 5 for $5
- Total Spent: $38.29 after tax for 22 items or $1.70/ea
*There is actually a $10 off $30 coupon that I could have used if I’d known I was going shopping (this is why you should always print off coupons you think you might use & keep in your purse). I’m kicking myself that I didn’t have the coupon with me. If I’d had the coupon, it would have been around $28 that I spent for 22 items, which would be just $1.27 for each item.
I love that I now have so many great little gift items for my gift bin! It always pays to check out these big sales and see what you can buy ahead for gifts throughout the year.
Gymboree:
Total Spent: $51.89+ tax + $25 Gymbucks for 14 items or $4.05/ea
We’re getting ready to head to Ohio in about a week to visit family and my girls were in need of more summer clothes, especially my older daughter as she’s just hit a growth spurt & moved into a new size. She can only really wear the elastic waisted shorts, so Gymboree is our best option for comfortable clothes that fit her. I was excited to realize that the Big Red Balloon Sale was still going on (it’s going on thru Sunday July 8th). I love this sale because they have tons of bins with clothes for $6.99 & less and all of the items I bought were $5 or less.
When I got to the store (since I hadn’t planned on going shopping) I didn’t have the Gymboree 20% off coupon with me. I knew there was a 20% off coupon in the recent Parents magazine so I had them hold my clothes for me & trekked down to Target to buy a Parents magazine (paid full price at $3.50) but it was worth it because I saved over $10 with the 20% off coupon.
{The only problem was I then got sucked in by Target’s clearance section – found 50% off blue dot items in the Target dollar spot & more! I can never walk away from Target without buying something - thanks to FB Fan Nicole for this appropriate picture!}
So, I spent a total of $51.89 + tax ($56.81) for 14 items, which works out to $4.05/each. Plus I now have a $25 Gymbuck to use at the end of the month (there’s a 2 week redemption period from the 16th – 31st, I think), which is like a 50% off coupon. Spend $50 & use a $25 Gymbuck.

Both of these sales are ending on Sunday July 8th, so make sure to head on over to the mall and check out the sales! And don’t forget those retail coupons like I did!!
Let us know what deals you find at the stores!

I LOVE gymboree just for that reason! We are on a fairly tight budget and I get the best deals there. If you work it right it is awesome, and although their clothes can be spendy they are SO much better and last longer than most others. Really is the best bang for your buck in my opinion! :)
You’re absolutely right & they have great resale value, too, on Craigslist, etc.
I hit the Gymboree sale yesterday and did really well, also! I scored a heavy jacket for about $5.60 as well as jeans and a bunch of other stuff. My husband was impressed that I bought $231 worth of clothing for just $33. Gotta love a great deal!!!
