We know these days more folks are interested in stand alone rentals too, so we have a big list of cabin rentals in the NW that you can find here too.

Before we share a list of some of our favorite inexpensive weekend getaways in Washington, here are some deals that you will find for under $100 a night at local hotels. If you are looking for current hot deals, here are 5 of our favorites:

5 Inexpensive Weekend Getaways in Washington (Under $100 a night):

Here are 5 fun deals we found for under $100 a night (and some just over $100). This price is based on 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids) unless noted otherwise, and should include any daily resort fees, but does not include tax. These are for spots we could find a reasonable number of dates available at this price (we will note what date range we found these prices in), but in many cases it will only be specific dates available at this price).

Head to Westport and stay at the LOGE for as low as $79 a night! This offer also includes a $5 dining credit. It is located one block away from the South Bay waterfront and a 17-minute walk from the beach. You can head to the marina’s observation tower for a bird’s-eye view of the boats bobbing in Grays Harbor, Half Moon Bay, and North and South Bays. The marina district is also home to a number of small coffee shops and artisan boutiques.

Walla Walla – La Quinta Inn from $100/nt – This spot includes breakfast too! They also offer a family suite that has two queens and a pull out sofa for a bit more. In addition to free breakfast daily, this spot also includes an indoor hot tub and pool, so would be a great choice for families. You can explore the quaint downtown area of Wall Wall, including tastings in the numerous wineries, restaurants, boutiques, vintage stores, cafes, and bookstores.

Leavenworth LOGE Camp Locations – From $88/nt – We found the $89 rates for January and February dates for the riverfront location. You can get a double queen with a shared bathroom in downtown Leavenworth for just over $100/nt too (or pay just a little more to have your own bathroom. Both locations have lots to explore and enjoy. If you book the Leavenworth one, you can consider a day trip into Wenatchee as well to enjoy the fun Pybus Indoor Market and lots more.

Spokane Valley Silverstone Inn and Suites

Head to the Spokane Valley for as low as $52/nt in a double queen here at the Spokane Valley Silverstone Inn and Suites. This hotel sits about 10 minutes outside of downtown Spokane, and we share lots of ideas of Things to Do in Spokane here! This spot includes free breakfast, and complimentary cookies and has an indoor pool.

Or if you want to stay right in town, we have some recommendations on places we like to stay when visiting Spokane here too.

Mt Vernon WashingtonGetaway Cabins from under $100 nt. Right now we found cabins that sleep 4 for as low as $92 for some dates + use promo code SNOWDAY for January or  you can save an extra 35% off per stay with them, plus they offered me a 3rd night for just $57! These cabins are positioned on 69 acres, making them ideal to enjoy the outdoors while comfy and cozy in this glamping experience.

Weekend Getaways from Seattle (& Surrounding Areas):

Suncadia / Cle Elum Area:

Distance from the Seattle area:: Approx. 1 hours 15 minutes

I love this spot, since it is so easy to get to from the Puget Sound areas. It is also a 4 seasons destination, with lots to offer year round. You can plan your trip to include the Suncadia Resort, with lots of high end amenities, or stay at the Best Western and just enjoy the local restaurants and outdoor activities. It is one of my families favorite getaways if we are looking for someplace we can get to quick, but feels like we really got away. I cannot think of a single trip we have had to this area that we did not thoroughly enjoy!

Suncadia Ice Skating

Lake view of Leavenworth Tiny House Village

Leavenworth & Wenatchee Area – 4 Seasons Destination!

Distance from the Seattle area:: Approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

I just love the Wenatchee and Leavenworth during so many seasons of the year! They both are really 4 season destinations. There is beautiful sunshine in the summer months, snow in the winter, foliage in the fall and wonderful hikes and flowers in the spring. Here are a couple of our reviews of a fun places to go for families in these areas.

Leavenworth Tiny Houses

Not only do you get your very own tiny house to stay in here, but this place also offers mini golf, tennis courts (bring your own items to play with), sits on a lake and is right in between Leavenworth and Wenatchee for lots of day trip fun!

Pybus Market in Wenatchee Washington

If you want to explore beyond Leavenworth, and into Wenatchee, be sure to check out our review here. The Pybus Public Market is so fun, as well as so many other things for families to do in that area too.

Point No Point Lighthouse

Explore the Kitsap Peninsula (stay in Silverdale)

Silverdale Distance from the Seattle area:: Approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

The Quality Inn and Suites in Silverdale has double queen beds for as low as $81/nt.

This spot includes free hot breakfast, and is pet friendly. I have not stayed here, but we did stay nearby, and so I know that this spot is in walking distance to the water.

The Best Western, and Oxford Suites are two spots that are both usually affordable and are waterfront too, if you want something a little nicer (we share our review of our Best Western stay below). There are also a number of beautiful resorts on the Peninsula if you want to pay a bit more, and we share some of those ideas below too.

Check out this budget friendly getaway on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington

The Kitsap Peninsula is fun to explore, and we have spent lots of time in this area. If you are wanting to turn a trip to the Kitsap Peninsula into something more than an overnight trip, we have an itinerary here that you can use to plan a weekend trip, as well as a week long trip! I love this area because in my experience it has always been budget friendly, full of outdoor adventures, quintessential Northwest experience with all of the beach access, as well as some great lodging experiences activities and dining.

The Olympic Peninsula

Distance from the Seattle area:: Approx. 1 hour 15 minutes (ferry time will add to this possibly).

If you want to continue past the Kitsap Peninsula, the Olympic Peninsula is famous for its beaches, Hoh Rainforest and so much more! This is one of the most popular areas of Washington to explore by tourists, and if you can you really should make a trip out here at least once in your lifetime.

Two very popular spots to stay in this area are the Quinalt Lodge and the Kaloloch lodge. The Sul Duc Hot Springs is also another fun option. Both will need to be booked months in advance most likely. There are also many hotel/motel options you can find for the area here.

We have a list of beaches you can explore on the Olympic Peninsula as well here!

View from Glamping Cottages overlooking Neva Lake

The San Juan Islands!

Distance from the Seattle area:: Approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

The San Juan Islands will require a ferry ride, but really highlight the best of the Northwest. With everything from Whale Watching to leisurely picnics, it is one of the spots we get the most requests about in our Pacific Northwest travel group here.

There are a number of island here and a number of spots to explore, but one of our favorites is this one:

Camp at Lakesdale Resort in the San Juans –

Lakesdale Resort is open for Spring Break dates with up to 30% off. Campsites start at $39, RV sites for $49 and if you want to spend more you can glamp in a or stay in the lodge too! 3-night minimum stay in any RV or campsite is required. Check out Jens review from her summer stay, to get a better idea of what this resort offers.

Beach at Long Beach WA

The Washington Coastline – Beaches, Beaches, Beaches!

Distance from the Seattle area:: Approx. 1 hour 15 minutes (just to reach the closest beach area…destinations will vary from this depending on where they are).

The Washington Coastline is full of opportunities to stay on the beach, It can take you anywhere from 1+hours to 3+ hours, depending on where you are traveling from, and where your destination is to. But there are so many fun options to explore in this area. Some of our favorites include:

Frying Pan Photo Opp in Long Beach WA

Long Beach Washington – this is a wonderful option if you are looking for some beach access and lots for families to do! Read our full review here of where to stay, what to do, and where to eat in the area.

Ocean Shores Washington – this is a fun spot with families, with everything from go kart to kite flying. It is easily accessible from the Seattle area, and offers camping to motel and hotel lodging options. You could even stay in the Olympia area and easily make a day drive over as well.

Seabrook Washington – Seabrook is a vacation hub that is perfect for families. Stay in a unit rental, and get walking access to the village with restaurants and shops as well as beaches. This is our favorite pick for families.

  1. I got a laugh at the Best Western Hotel post in “Potland”, Oregon. I’m from Portland and “pot” is now being sold on about every corner….so very appropriate!

    1. So glad it was helpful for you Kristin. Have you stayed at the Lion and Rose before – we would love to hear about the hotel if you have (or do decide to stay). It is always so helpful for folks to have personal recommendations. Thanks!!

  2. Do you happen to know if the Shilo Inns deal works at ALL Shilos? And what if you have reservations already? Can you still use the certificates?

    1. Hi Brandy – It’s good at over 40 locations, but it does list several that it will not work during specific times , in the fine print on the main deal page – ot valid at Newport, Seaside Oceanfront, Oregon and Ocean Shores, Washington from May 15th through September 15th, 2016.
-Excludes Mammoth Lakes California – Weekends, December 15th through April 15th. I am not sure if it will work with existing reservations -I would call the Shilo Inn first to ask them before you buy.

  3. My birthday is in January and I live in Ohio, of all places. I am turning 30 on my birthday and I wanted to have a like girls spa relaxing type of weekend getaway but I have no idea where to do this. We can’t go far since we’re all moms and have jobs, etc. and there isnt a huge budget to do like a Vegas trip or anything. I had the idea of going to the cabins with like spa services and a hot tub and stuff but everyone I keep getting discouraged by the distance, like it’s unpredictable Ohio, but on the other hand every cabin I have found is like set up for couples. Any ideas?

    1. Hi – we are in the Pacific NW and share getaway deals for this area, so we are not as familiar with ideas for Ohio. Have you tried some of the local blogs for your area?

  4. Hi Thrifty NW Moms, my family is planning on staying near the downtown area in Seattle during April..so far most of the hotel seems to be $90 and up..we are really looking for a cheap hotel near the downtown. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions or know any cheap hotels near that area? Thanks! By the way, I love all your blog posts Victoria, BC! They really helped me a lot on making a frugal travel plan :)

    1. Hi Ashley – There is the Executive Hotel in downtown Seattle for as low as around $80 (depending on room type and dates, and dates are limited) when you use the promo code WELCOME https://bit.ly/2n0QOwx (which is a very good price for the downtown area). Alternatively, you might want to check out our post on the Tukwila area here – https://www.thriftynorthwestmom.com/travel-cheap-deals-reviews-northwest/ Tukwila/Seatac area will have much more affordable hotels. Its around 20 minutes from the downtown area (can be much more by car depending on traffic) but there is the light rail that you can easily take into downtown from this area, and many hotels will offer shuttle service to the light rail. Hope this helps some. We do include the Marrittiot at Seatac in our best indoor pools round up here too https://www.thriftynorthwestmom.com/6-washington-hotels-great-indoor-pools-staycation-ideas/

Hope that helps, and thank you so much for letting us know how the Victoria posts where useful to you. I hope you guys have a wonderful getaway!

      1. Hi Sia, thank you so much for taking your time to respond! $80 sounds like a good deal, but our family are on a budget and are trying to see if there’s any way we could get down to $60-70 (probably impossible). If no hotels are available at that price, then the $80 hotel it is! We’ve been to Seattle 4 times and seen almost everything so we would really like to know if there’s any new or interesting places that we’ve never heard of :) Thank you again!

        1. I would recommend the second option then Ashley, staying in Tukwila / Sea Tac area and taking the light rail into the downtown area. You should find hotels in that price range there (and they will likely include breakfast too). Be sure to make sure you check to see if they include parking, as that could add up if they do not. My family stayed there in December, and the hotel was around $70 per night with breakfast and an evening snack hour. One more tip is to see if the hotel offers a shuttle to the light rail so you do not have to deal with parking. Sometimes the Best Western in Seattle will have some good rates, but otherwise there are not too many deals in the downtown area for that rate (or they are not hotels I would recommend staying at).

There are two things I would recommend to you, to help stretch your budget while visiting this time. Check out our Seattle Staycation post, as its full of free an low cost ideas. I am not sure what you have already done in Seattle, but if you have kids mine love the Artists playground at the Seattle Center, the fountain to play in if its sunny, and then visit the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation visitors center across the street – all are free!

          https://www.thriftynorthwestmom.com/seattle-center-artists-at-play-playground/

Also, between the Tukwila and downtown seattle areas, is the Museum of flight. They are currently running a program where you can get free admission, so check that out. Its a great museum!

          https://www.thriftynorthwestmom.com/museum-of-flight-free-membership/

One last recommendation. Near the Museum of Flight is an area called Georgetown. Depending on when you are visiting, they run a trailer park mall during the warmer months. Its not huge, but is a fun unique way to strolll through an afternoon. You could couple it with a visit to the museum of flight if you choose to do that, as they are near in proximity (and there is also a very unique park nearby with some Seattle History included)!

  5. Thanks for this informative website. Kindly add me to your mailing list for affordable Pacific North West getaway ideas for families. The information here was very helpful!

    1. Hi Ronke, So glad the information is helpful for you! We do have several email newsletters & one of them is a Northwest mailing list, so you would get anything related to the NW here. I just submitted your email to that list & you will need to look into your email for the confirmation email that you need to click to confirm you want to get the emails. Thanks!

  6. The Red Lion in Montana charges an additional $40 non-refundable security deposit, making the real charge over $100!

    1. Thanks for pointing that out Rhonda. We have updated the post to point that fee out to folks (pointing out that it only makes it a great deal if you are staying over a few days). Thanks again!

  7. Hello, we want to come to the pacific NE and “do it all all” on a budget. We want to see the whales, downtown Seattle, the redwoods, and visit wine country. Any recommendations on the best way to do this on a budget? We would fly in on Thursday and fly out on Sunday.

    1. Hi Jessica, we have a Seattle Staycation post, that is full of many budget friendly options in the immediate Seattle area here that will help with exploring Seattle on a budget (https://www.thriftynorthwestmom.com/staycation-things-to-do-seattle/) It would be a very agressive schedule to try to do all of that 4 days (including travel times). I am not sure it will be possible to get in the Redwoods and Wine country (depending on which wine country area you are referring to). Goldstar is a site where you can book some of the excursions at a Discount (https://tracking.goldstar.com/aff_c?offer_id=6&aff_id=1284&source=https://www.goldstar.com/seattle?category_id%5B0%5D=34&ctlc=true) and we have reviews of different areas you can visit (and resorts to stay at in the NW) on our travel page here https://www.thriftynorthwestmom.com/travel/. Hope that helps some! Have fun.

  8. Do you happen to know a place (with beds) that could accommodate 12-15 people for less than 1k a night? Anywhere in western Washington really.

I’d love if it was more towards nature than city. Near to a water source would be perfect.

    1. Hi Trishi – you might want to check sites like Glamping Hub or Airbnb for options you can rent from home owners. We share about Glamping Hub here Hope this helps you find what you are looking for https://www.thriftynorthwestmom.com/glamping-hub-find-great-deals-nw-getaways-tree-houses-yurts-cabins-beach-front/

Here are a couple of houses we have stayed in (they are not in Western Washington, but Oregon) but are just two that we have personal experience with and review for you in case they are of interest:

      https://www.thriftynorthwestmom.com/glamping-hub-find-great-deals-nw-getaways-tree-houses-yurts-cabins-beach-front/
https://www.thriftynorthwestmom.com/rent-a-beach-house-in-lincoln-city-perfect-getaway-for-families/ (sleeps 9, but there are a couple extra mattresses in the closet you could use to sleep a couple extra while we were there – we loved this spot personally if you guys are willing to travel a bit further)

      Thanks!
