Target Deals – Week of August 8th – 14th

I headed to Target yesterday to snag a few of the back-to-school deals & a few other items. This was a quickly-pulled together trip as I scrambled to grab my coupons before heading out to church. We then headed there after church for a speedy trip with 2 grumpy girls. That was fun, let me tell you!
I’m sure the whole store heard my little Livi as we left the store.

New $1 off Hasbro Card Game Coupon
August 3, 2010

There’s a new Hasbro $1 off 1 card game coupon available. This coupon pairs up nicely with a sale on select Hasbro card games at Target this week for $3. We also might start seeing more sales on card games, so you could hold onto the coupon & wait for a better sale, too. Fred Meyer often has sales on the card games.
Update: This coupon expires in a week, so it looks like Target is your best place to use this coupon this week.
Here are the card games included on the coupon:
- Scrabble Slam
- Monopoly Deal
- Sorry Revenge
- Yahtzee Hands Down
- Pictureka
- Mille Bornes
- Littlest Pet Shop – Go Fish
- Rook
- Crazy Old Fish War
Scenario to use at Target:
Select Hasbro Card Games – on sale for $4
Use $1/1 Hasbro card game coupon
Final Price: $3/ea
These card games would make great stocking stuffers. They’re also a great item to send overseas – I got a few for my friend to send to her husband who was in Afghanistan for a year with the Army as it was something easy to send & gave them something different to do during the long evenings. Another reader mentioned donating them to local Children’s Hospitals as older kids are often in need of card games to keep them occupied during the long days spent in hospitals.
Thanks Pink Coupon Cafe!

Target Toy Clearance Finds from Readers
July 29, 2010
I’m excited to show you several pictures that readers sent of their Target toy clearance deals!! Thanks for sharing, gals!
There are still Target stores which have not dropped their toys to 75% off yet – so this still could be happening within the next few days! So, now you’ll know more ideas of what to look for! It never hurts to go back & check your Target stores, too, after the 75% off clearance, as you never know if you’ll end up finding some items that were returned or brought back to toys after being misplaced during all the commotion of the sale.
A FB fan also mentioned that an employee at her Issaquah store said they had more clearance in the back & would be putting it out as they made room for more items. So, it doesn’t hurt to check back at your store to see if this might happen, too. I didn’t think they’d have extra clearance items in the back, but you never know!
Adriana’s Clearance Deals: She headed to Vancouver, WA & a Portland, OR store- here’s what she has to say:
“I am super excited about the toys I found today. Many people think I’m crazy for doing this but with four kids under five, 6 nieces & nephews, birthday parties, Christmas, etc…it gets expensive! I spent $204.65 for everything. Regular price should have been $787.95.”

Make sure to check out Mandy’s deals from Texas- she paid $326.70 & got $1306.80 worth of toys! Wow!
Check out all the deals I was able to find at Target’s 75% off toy clearance and don’t forget to look & see if your store is included in the roundup of Target stores with 75% off toy clearance.

Target Toy Clearance Finds
July 29, 2010
Okay, finally I have a chance to get pictures & let you know what I found at my 2 Target’s with their 75% off clearance sales that have been going on this week! I actually arrived at 10am both days & still scored some great deals, although it was pretty picked over at the store I went to today since the store was prepared & had the clearance marked down in time for the store to open this morning.
Here is what I found yesterday at my first Target (I got there as they were in the process of marking items down):
Leapster Didj System – $17.48 (Reg $69.99)
Thomas & Friends Take -n-Play Portable Train – $6.24
Curious George Game – $4.98
Strawberry Shortcake – $2.87
Playmobil 16 piece – $1.57
Fisher Price Ice Cream Game – $4.48
Nesting Blocks (Alphabet) – $3.34
Disney Floating Swan Salon – $3.72
Fisher Price Treehouse – $5.98
Disney Princess Doll – $4.24
Circo Train Tracks – $3.98
Tinkerbell Playset – $4.98
And here is what I found today (July 29th):
Shovel Critter – $1.04
Large Shovel – $.48
Small Shovel – $.24
Bubbles – $.24
Wood Cars – $1.74
Sand Wagon w/Tools – 2.97
I spent about $100 on these items, but saved almost $300! This is such a great time to stock up on gifts – I was able to buy gifts for my girls, my nieces & nephews & other family members, as well as gifts for my mom to give her grandkids. And all those birthday parties during the year! I was so thankful that my mom was down visiting to help me out as I did a small coupon class last night & it just happened to be during the Target toy clearance time – so I was able to shop without kids both days – thank you MOM!
The reason I show you the pictures with the items so that you can see how it really does pay to shop these huge clearance events – but also to help you look for items at your stores, if they haven’t marked toys down to 75% off yet. And if they haven’t, you’re lucky because you’ll know all sorts of things to look for!
Update: Check out all the awesome Target 75% off toy clearance deals that several readers found at their stores this week!
For a linkup of all the different items that people are finding at their stores, head over to Thrifty & Thriving & you can link up your deals there if you have a blog. And check out her amazing deals, too – she found a ton of stuff that I never even saw at our stores! She is definitely the queen of Target clearance sales – she knows her stuff!
And send me your pictures, if you found some great deals at your Target store – you could send the details of what you paid for the items or just a total amount & how much you saved!

Roundup of Target Stores with 75% off Toy Clearance – Northwest & Nationwide
July 28, 2010
Updated Thursday morning!
Here’s a quick roundup of the Northwest & National stores that I’ve heard have 75% off the toy clearance today from Facebook fans & readers. If your store is not included, there is a very good chance that it will happen sometime tomorrow – best bet is to get there sometime in the early morning. As I found out at my location today, the best time was mid morning since they were slowly marking items down & they weren’t showing up in the system until they had marked them down. However, each store will have a different way of working it & they could have a lot more staff involved in the process (hopefully)!
Don’t forget to check out the baby clearance section either – there were several sections with 75% off baby items & they had baby gear priced at 50% off (stroller/car seat combos, swings, pack ‘n plays, etc).
Tip: You may not get accurate information from Target employees if you call. If they say the sale is not happening, I would still check as many people have found that they were given inaccurate information over the phone. I would just go check & see for yourself or ask friends to check!

Target Toy Clearance – 75% off at some locations
July 28, 2010
I’m back from my local Target & they had marked toy clearance to 75% off today. However, it sounds like most locations are still marked at 30 – 50% off. If this is the case, then most likely tomorrow will be the day for the majority of the stores to mark their toy clearance to 75% off. So, even if you’ve only seen the clearance prices at 30% off – they could jump to 75% off tomorrow or even Friday.
At my location, I found that they started with only 1 or 2 employees slowly marking down the clearance, so it was taking awhile to get thru all of the aisles. They did not switch the signs to 75% off until they were finished with the whole section – so many signs still said 30% off when I arrived. When I tried to scan items that had not been marked down yet, it showed up as “Item not available”. Once the employees scanned one item, then all the identical items were then marked down in the system. A few of the employees were so nice to scan a few of our items so we could see if they were 75% off.
So, the point is that even if an item does not have a sticker price that is 75% off, there are no signs for 75% off & it scans as “unavailable”- this does not mean that the items are not marked in the system. You just have to be patient & wait for the employees to scan everything. Thankfully they started bringing out more employees & they had 4-5 people scanning & putting new clearance stickers on by the time I left.
My tip is to put the items into your cart that you’re interested in & then wait as they work to scan all the items & mark them down. Just stay courteous to the employees as they were working hard to get items marked down & it’s going to be quite busy in there tomorrow!
I have to head out for an appointment, but here’s a quick list of some of the items I found (I was shopping for girl items) – I’ll add pictures when I get home:
-Tinkerbell Balloon Playset – $4.98 (reg $19.99)
-Little People Fairy Treehouse – $5.98 (reg $23.99)
-Nesting blocks – $3.34
-Circo 30 pc track set (can be used with other train tracks) – $3.98
-Leapster Didj System – $17.48 (reg. $69.99) **Amazing deal!!
-Curious George Hide & Seek Zoo game – $4.98
-Playmobil 16 pc Underwater set – $1.57
If your store had 75% off toys today – let us know what you found!
