Denny’s Free Grand Slam Breakfast ~ Tuesday February 9th!

February 7, 2010

Happy Superbowl Sunday!! I’m sure many of you might have taken advantage of the Denny’s Free Breakfast deal that was announced last year on Superbowl Sunday during one of the commercials! Well, guess what…they’re offering a FREE Grand Slam Breakfast once again this year, which will be announced during one of the Superbowl commercials.

The free Grand Slam breakfast will be offered on Tuesday February 9th from 6am – 2pm.  Just be prepared for long waits! My husband went before work last year and actually tried 2 different Denny’s locations and they both had super long wait times! He ended up getting a raincheck.  So….how many of you went last year to get your FREE Grand Slams? How long of a wait did you have?

Here are some other Denny’s offers you’ll want to check out:

-Go HERE to enter to win a FREE Grand Slam a week (52 Grand Slam’s).  If you’re one of the first 500,000 to enter, you’ll receive an email for a FREE Burger & Fries.  This email will be sent out on February 28, 2010.  You’ll also receive a special offer on the anniversary of  your Denny’s Rewards membership.

-For those who enter before Feb 14, 2010, you will also receive a special welcome offer (most likely with a freebie or coupon)!

And for those with birthday’s coming up, you can go into any Denny’s for a FREE Original Grand Slam for your birthday! It doesn’t sound like you need a coupon for that as they are advertising it on the main page, with the info on the free Grand Slam on Tues 2/9.

Thanks Centsible in Seattle!

Birthday Freebies

October 22, 2009

I apologize for my lack of posting the last few days….yesterday was a double birthday in our family–my hubby’s birthday and my little one’s 1st birthday!! So, we had a busy day getting ready for the birthdays and celebrating!

We love Red Robin’s Birthday Club – my husband got his free gourmet burger and my little one got a free kids meal as well, which they allowed us to split between both girls (my little one ate more than my 3 yr old ;) ). And they both got birthday sundaes, complete with the singing! :) So, all we had to pay for was my meal! Now, that was a fun and frugal way to celebrate a birthday!! :)
If you haven’t signed up for the Red Robin Birthday club yet, you can go HERE to sign up for the birthday club for adults and the kids birthday club! While there, check out the free Kids Cookoff cookbook filled with all sorts of burger recipes invented by kids across the country, and you can download it for free!! Go HERE to download the free cookbook!
And for those of you who are fairly new to my blog, I’ve mentioned this awesome birthday freebie site before, and wanted to mention it again for all you who missed it!! You can go to Freebirthdaytreats.com and find a HUGE database of places you can sign up for free birthday freebies!! They list it by state and for kids and adults, so you’re sure to find a ton of great restaurants and stores near you offering birthday freebies! Go HERE to see my post about this great resource!
If you don’t see your favorite restaurant on the list, then check out their individual website to see if they have any birthday freebies on their site – usually if you register for their e-newsletter, they’ll send you a coupon for your birthday (at least that’s how it works at a number of restaurants)!

Birthday Freebies

July 27, 2009

I thought I’d do another quick post to remind you about signing up for birthday freebies!! It’s a good idea to sign up for them all at once and then when your birthday (or a family member’s) comes around, you’ll start getting your inbox FILLED with all sorts of offers and you can choose which ones sound like the best deals or the most fun to try out!! :) My oldest daughter and I both have birthdays in May, so I signed both of us up for a number of birthday freebies and we had so much fun trying some out!! My youngest daughter and husband’s birthdays are in October (on the same day!) so I need to get to work signing them up, too! :)

The most comprehensive list that you’ll find for all the birthday freebies you can sign up for, all in one place, is called Freebirthdaytreats.com . The creators of this website have a HUGE database of all sorts of birthday freebies from restaurants, stores, and more–and it’s broken down by state. I first shared this site with you back in February HERE (thanks to a fabulous tip from one of my readers), but since I have many new readers, I wanted to share it again! If I were you, I’d head on over there and spend a few minutes signing up for all these fabulous birthday freebies!!
Another great resource for my local readers is a recent article written by the Seattle “Free Stuff” Examiner, Cindy Grayson, which you can find HERE! She also has a in-depth list of restaurants found in the Seattle area, where you can sign up for birthday freebies!!
While you’re there, check out her homepage for other informative articles of other fun, free events, activities, and more going on around the Seattle area!! A great resource to use if you’re local and looking for some fun, frugal ideas this summer!

Free samples from Walmart!

February 27, 2009

I love Walmart samples because they always arrive within a few weeks and the forms are very simple to fill out (I use the free version of Roboform which makes it go even quicker). If you’ve already requested the sample, you cannot request it again, unless it’s a new one that’s come out. You have to sign up for each of these individually as well (which is why I love Roboform so I don’t have to fill out the information over and over) So, here are the links to the current Walmart samples::

Parent’s Choice Formula sample

Kotex

Viva paper towels

Selsun Blue shampoo

Crest Whitestrips

Always Infinity

Maybelline Foundation

Poise pads

Free personalized greeting from the President for gift!

February 27, 2009

When I was looking thru the website I mentioned below with the huge list of birthday freebies, I came across a cool idea that I haven’t heard of before. You can request a free, personalized greeting from the President of the US for certain special occasions! I think this is a very special, unique gift, which you could frame or place in a special scrapbook or memory book, at a minimal cost to you! A memorable but frugal gift!!

It turns out that there are several ways you can receive a free personalized greeting or card from the current US President::

1) To celebrate your baby’s birth – the request must be submitted within the baby’s first year of life (but not before the child is born). I think this is such a cool idea to put in your child’s scrapbook or baby book (wish I’d known about it for my older daughter, but I’m definitely going to request it for my baby to put in a scrapbook for her!).

2) To celebrate a birthday – this is only for people 80 years old or older. The requests typically take around 6 weeks so make sure you send away for this in time to be presented to your family member/friend on their birthday!

3) To celebrate an anniversary – Couple must have celebrated 50 years or more to receive a greeting from the president.

*One website (which is a few years old) stated that you could also request a personalized greeting for a wedding (after the date), Eagle Scout award, Girl Scout Gold award, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or an equivalent event. However, I could not find any more information about this, so I’m not sure that it is accurate for the current administration. But, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try.

Here is what you need to do to request a free, personalized greeting:
1) You have to be a US citizen
2) Provide the name, address, date of birth/birthday/anniversary date of the person for whom the letter will be sent
3) If you’re requesting it for someone else, provide your name and address as well. If you’re requesting this as a gift to give them, make sure to have them send it to you.
4) Send your request by mail or fax::

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
Fax#: 202-456-2461

You could also call the White House contact number for more information::
202-456-1111 or 202-456-1414.

Birthday Freebies Galore – New Website!!!

February 27, 2009

I wanted to let you know about an awesome site for birthday freebies that a reader just shared with me (Thanks for sharing such an awesome site, Tiffy Wiffy!). It has so many great links and ideas that I wanted to devote a whole post to letting you know what kinds of fantastic freebies and discounts you can find on this site. It’s called “Free Birthday Treats” (http://www.freebirthdaytreats.com/). There are a lot of blogs which have great lists of birthday freebies – but this is the most extensive list, all in one place, that I have found!!

Birthdays can get quite expensive, especially if you have larger families or extended families! So, I’m sure alot of us are on the lookout for ways we can save when it comes to birthday celebrations, especially in our current economy! Some of these discounts/freebies are good just for the week of your birthday, while others may be available your entire birthday month.

Here’s just a sampling of what you’ll find on this cool website::

The BEST feature – on the home page, you will find a database of all the birthday freebies for your state!! Just click on adults, kids, or pets to find out what’s available! I decided to check out my state (Washington) and here are just a few of the places I found:
-Tony Roma’s – Free entree
-The Keg – Free prime rib dinner
-The Melting Pot – Free chocolate for two (we just went there last week and used this coupon, you also get this coupon if you sign up for their newsletter here– this is a savings of about $14-15)
-Red Robin -free gourmet burger
-Qdoba Mexican Grill – Buy 1, Get 1 entree free
-AMF Bowling- free birthday gift (and additional gift when you sign up for their newsletter)
**There are also retail stores as well, I noticed more in different states!

Birthday E-Cards–this has a whole database of links to the big e-card sites, not just for birthdays but any occasion.
- Including: Blue Mountain, American Greetings, Hallmark, Daysprings (Christian e-cards)

Birthday Gift Ideas–there are some very cool links on this page for baby’s first birthday, kids, everyone, and even pets. Here are some of the highlights:

-Free voucher for Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey – This is for baby (I gave you the actual link as well) – you must sign up anytime before your child turns 12 mos old but there is no expiration date. I just signed up my baby (unfortunately I missed it for my older daughter, but she can still get a free certificate as well as my baby).
-Baby Calendars – enter your child’s birthdate in their system and they will give you a little newsletter for every day, with milestones, tips, ideas, etc.
-International Star Registry-buy a star (wow, is that a unique gift!)
-Create your own t-shirts
-Personalized children’s novels

Birthday Fun Facts:: Find out information about your birth flower, birthday color and what it means, famous people born on your birthday, and other fun facts/sites

Birthday Services:: Links for invitations/evites, party planning, photo sites, and birthday reminder sites (like Birthday Alarm–I love getting reminders of upcoming friends/family birthdays! I’m just not so good at transferring birthdays to my calendar every year)

I’m excited to go thru this site and sign up for some great birthday freebies as we have a number of family birthdays coming up this spring….including my birthday and my daughter’s 3rd birthday! And just a tip–if you don’t find your favorite restaurant listed, go to their website and chances are, they will have an email club/newsletter you can sign up for and receive some sort of a goodie. Or give them a call to see what they offer for birthdays! Most restaurants these days (at least the chain restaurants) will have some sort of an email club you can join for discounts and freebies!
