July 29, 2010
Welcome to Thrifty NW Mom! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe by your feed reader or by email . Make sure to become a Facebook Fan & follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!
Okay, finally I have a chance to get pictures & let you know what I found at my 2 Target’s with their 75% off clearance sales that have been going on this week! I actually arrived at 10am both days & still scored some great deals, although it was pretty picked over at the store I went to today since the store was prepared & had the clearance marked down in time for the store to open this morning.
Here is what I found yesterday at my first Target (I got there as they were in the process of marking items down):
Leapster Didj System – $17.48 (Reg $69.99)
Thomas & Friends Take -n-Play Portable Train – $6.24
Curious George Game – $4.98
Strawberry Shortcake – $2.87
Playmobil 16 piece – $1.57
Fisher Price Ice Cream Game – $4.48
Nesting Blocks (Alphabet) – $3.34
Disney Floating Swan Salon – $3.72
Fisher Price Treehouse – $5.98
Disney Princess Doll – $4.24
Circo Train Tracks – $3.98
Tinkerbell Playset – $4.98
And here is what I found today (July 29th):
Shovel Critter – $1.04
Large Shovel – $.48
Small Shovel – $.24
Bubbles – $.24
Wood Cars – $1.74
Sand Wagon w/Tools – 2.97
I spent about $100 on these items, but saved almost $300! This is such a great time to stock up on gifts – I was able to buy gifts for my girls, my nieces & nephews & other family members, as well as gifts for my mom to give her grandkids. And all those birthday parties during the year! I was so thankful that my mom was down visiting to help me out as I did a small coupon class last night & it just happened to be during the Target toy clearance time – so I was able to shop without kids both days – thank you MOM!
The reason I show you the pictures with the items so that you can see how it really does pay to shop these huge clearance events – but also to help you look for items at your stores, if they haven’t marked toys down to 75% off yet. And if they haven’t, you’re lucky because you’ll know all sorts of things to look for!
For a linkup of all the different items that people are finding at their stores, head over to Thrifty & Thriving & you can link up your deals there if you have a blog. And check out her amazing deals, too – she found a ton of stuff that I never even saw at our stores! She is definitely the queen of Target clearance sales – she knows her stuff!
And send me your pictures, if you found some great deals at your Target store – you could send the details of what you paid for the items or just a total amount & how much you saved!

Radio Flyer My First Scooter – Pink – $29
July 27, 2010

The Radio Flyer My 1st Scooter in Pink is currently marked down to $29 at Amazon right now. Unfortunately the red one is still marked at $48.73. But, if you have a little girl in your family, this could make a great birthday or early Christmas gift. Just remember that Amazon prices fluctuate frequently, so you’ll want to snag this soon if you’re interested!
Update: Thanks to a FB fan tip, Walmart.com also has the Pink Radio Flyer My 1st Scooter on sale for $29 – just search “Radio Flyer My First Scooter”. They do have the red one for the same price, but it’s currently out of stock -but you might want to keep your eye on that one to see if they get any more in stock in the next few days or so.

Fred Meyer Toy Clearance – Tag Books for $2.99 & more
July 24, 2010
Update: I’ve heard from a number of readers & this sale is continuing this week! Yay!
I headed to Fred Meyer last night (& again this morning) to check out the toy clearance after hearing reports from many of you that there were some awesome deals with the select 60% off clearance toys. And boy, were you right! We are still expecting that Target should be marking their toy clearance up to 75% off hopefully this week (typically toy markdowns are on Wed or Thurs, but you never know, they could surprise us). However, you should definitely check Fred Meyer today, if you get a chance. I’m not sure how long their 60% off toy clearance sale is going on -it may be ending tonight. But, there are definitely some great deals to be had. If you end up finding a better deal at Target’s toy clearance, save your Fred Meyer receipt & you could return the items. But, I did notice different toys on sale between the two stores.
One of the best deals I found was select Leapfrog Tag books on sale for $5.99 – combine this with the $3 off manufacturer’s coupon from Leapfrog.com & you’ll only pay $2.99/ea. While Target only had one Tag book on clearance (Bakugan book), Fred Meyer had a number of different books on clearance.
Scenario:
Leapfrog Tag Book – $5.99 on sale (regularly $14.99)
Use $3/1 Leapfrog Tag Book coupon (you must have a leapfrog account & be logged in to print the coupon)
Final Price: $2.99
Here are some of the other toy clearance deals I found at Fred Meyer:
Leapfrog Tag Reader System – $19.99 sale price (cheapest I found is on Walmart.com for $27.66)
Tag Jr Books – $4.39 sale price
Leapfrog Didj System – $27.99 (Regularly $69.99)
Leapfrog Didj Game – Indiana Jones – $11.99 sale price
Playskool Kota & Pals – $11.99 (reg. $29.99)
Disney Princess Tiana Doll – $5.19 (regularly $12.99)
Lego Bionicle – $5.19 (Reg. $12.99)
Lego Racers – $5.99 (Reg. $14.99)
Star Wars Figure 3.75″ – $3.19 (Reg $7.99)
Transformers – $3.59 (reg. $8.99)

We’ve definitely taken advantage of all the Croc deals this spring/summer. My girls both have wide (or extra wide) feet – so Crocs are one of the few shoes they can wear easily!
