I always start early stocking up for everything. School supplies, clothes, make sure my stockpile is up on food/toiletries because I don’t have as much time to be hitting up all the deals once school starts…

I start buying school supplies here and there as soon as the sales start. I also put my two elementary kids clothes and backpacks on layaway at Big K and I shop for our teen at stores like Ross and Marshalls. I save tons of money this way.

I get the kids ready an hour and a half before they need to get ready. They take their time eating, getting dressed, and watching a favorite show. This way there is no stress as we head to school.
We freeze healthy, high protein breakfasts for the first week of school so that there is no hassle, high energy brain food every day.

As a family we make a list of lunch ideas for packing, this way we can plan our shopping trip and watch for sales. I know what they are eating and food doesn’t go to waste because the kids have selected it themselves.
I like to do a inventory of what we already have and can use again.
have the kid sleep early a night before school start to have full energy on first day back to school
I start preparing my kids about 2 weeks early for going to bed earlier and waking up earlier. I also shop early on in the summer so that I can get good deals on the school supply lists.

Start your “school schedule” for bedtimes and wake ups the week or two BEFORE school actually starts!

Back to school tip: be sure to move the wake-up time earlier gradually to avoid grumpiness!
As a mom and a teacher, I try to make the most of my summer with my boys. At the beginning of the summer we make a “wish list” of all the things we want to do. Then as we do them we check them off. A lot of the things we do, we got off of Pinterest and were either very cheap or free. We had so much fun this summer. Now I feel good about heading back to work because I know we made the most of our time together.

We start prepping for school by getting up early 2 weeks before school starts. We go through what are normal routine would be including doing hair, gathering stuff we need for the day, etc. Then when we are done we do something fun like play a board game or do an activity together…since we already have that extra time, it’s great to use it up by having fun together!

Best advice I have is to follow local blogs to match prices and coupons.
My tip is to get as much ready the night before the first day of school. Makes the first day of school morning go so much easier.
