We posted the Albertsons weekly deals earlier but we wanted to mention in a separate post about the popular gift card/catalina deal that is going on this week at Albertsons! This has happened the past few years as well and I’ve taken advantage of it as a great way to get some free groceries with gift cards that I would already be buying!
Here’s how it works:
If you purchase $100 in participating gift cards in a single transaction using your Albertsons Preferred Rewards card, then you will get a catalina for $20 on your next shopping trip. This means that you will be able to use the catalina on your next purchase or within a week (the catalina will expire within 1 week).
The gift cards which will trigger this catalina are:
- iTunes
- Lowe’s
- Sears
- Applebees
- Kohls
- Cabelas
- Bass Pro Shops
- JCPenney
Unfortunately there are not as many options as last year, but try to think of any upcoming needs where you might be able to use these gift cards, as well as any Father’s Day or Graduation gifts you might need to give.
The Lowe’s one would be great if you’re planning on doing any home improvement or gardening projects this summer. The Kohl’s, Sears & JCPenney’s would work well for back to school shopping in July & August. Cabela’s & Sears would also work well as Father’s Day gifts or use them to go buy a present this weekend with the gift card. If you can think of opportunities where you will use these gift cards anyways, then this is a great deal to then get $20 in free groceries!
