We just had a great presentation on Emergency Preparedness at our MOPS group this week and one of the things we discussed was the importance of having a written plan posted in your house for emergencies. Several of us were discussing the idea of having a fire escape ladder for your children’s bedroom if you live in a multi-floor house.
Perfect timing as today there is a sale on a fire escape ladder. Amazon has the Kidde KL-2S Two-Story Fire Escape Ladder with Anti-Slip Rungs, 13-Foot for just $33.97 + free Super Saver shipping. This is 49% off!
Just doing some quick research on the price comparison sites, I found that most of the similar ladders are at least $50-70, so this is a great price. This item hasn’t dropped this low since last February either.
Update: Thanks to FB Fan Katie for pointing this out – this is a one-time use ladder. Once you use it, it is not safe to use it again -make sure to read the description to read more about that.
We will be talking some this month about Emergency Preparedness & having a plan, especially in light of the recent ice storm that hit the Puget Sound area last month. In our MOPS presentation on Thursday, our speaker, Leah, shared how important it is to have an written Emergency Plan in place. You can check out more information about a written Emergency Plan from Disaster Center.com.

We’ve been meaning to order something like this for a while! Thanks for the info!!
Something like this might be better

My kids are 1,6,13,and 17, so only 2 of them could escape with the kiddie one listed above. Plus it’s a one time use, so having multiple children go down wouldn’t be safe. This other one can hold multiple people and you can practice before hand.
