As we mentioned earlier this week, Albertson’s has come out with a new printable coupon policy today, which is effective starting tomorrow, Saturday December 17th, 2011. You’ll want to make sure to print this new coupon policy off & keep it in your coupon binder/folder. I have to say that I am very pleased with Albertson’s new policy & I really feel that they have been listening to couponers’ concerns & working hard to have clear policies so that you won’t face frustration as you may at other stores. Here are some highlights:
- Overage Allowed for Coupons- Albertsons will now allow overage for the manufacturer’s coupon. This means that if you have a coupon that is $3 off Panko bread crumbs, for example, but the product is marked at $2.50 at Albertsons. They will give you the full value of the coupon ($3) towards your order. You cannot get cash-back but the overage (the extra $.50 will be applied to the rest of your order). This only applies to manufacturer’s coupons – not store coupons (Twice the Value coupons are store coupons). See the exact wording from the policy below:
- Coupons that exceed the retail value of an item will have the remaining amount applied to the balance of the transaction. In the event a transaction balance results in a “credit”, additional items WILL be added/suggested to the order to utilize the remaining value of the coupon. We will not provide any “cash back” on coupons; however we will provide full redemption value.
- Buy One Get One Free Policy Clarified – Albertsons also has clarified the issue of Buy One Get One Free items. They state that if there is a Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale going on, you may also use a Buy 1 Get 1 Free coupon to get both items for FREE.
- Albertsons offers of Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO) promotions in their weekly advertisement can be combined with Buy One, Get One Free manufacturer coupons to result in BOTH items being Free. The items in the manufacturer coupon must exactly match our weekly advertisement offers and meet the redemption criteria.
- Clarification on Albertsons Twice the Value Coupons – The new coupon policy also clarifies the issue with Twice the Value coupons that they are indeed a store coupon & only 1 store coupon may be used with a manufacturer’s coupon (you cannot also use an in-ad store coupon).

While I’m a little sad I can’t stack the store coupons with the TTV, I’m happy over all. I shall NOT give up with asking for the doublers back IN STORE though.
