Mott's Snack & Go Applesauce Pouches

We’re nearing the end of the school year and it seems like life gets busier and busier as we approach these last few months of school and after-school activities. This is our first year of having two kids in full-time school and silly me, I thought life would slow down a little, but I had no idea how busy it is when your kids get to elementary age & beyond with all the after-school activities and homework!

We are in a season of having several after-school activities where we go straight from school to a sports activity like dance or swimming. Thank goodness for my Google Calendar, I don’t know what I would do without those reminders from my calendar, telling me where we need to go on that day and what I need to bring with us in the car so I don’t forget anything. Anyone else feel like you live by your Calendar app? I’d be totally lost if it failed me! ;)

In fact, one afternoon as I was getting ready to head out to pick up my girls from school and then head down to dance classes for both of them, I was busy getting together all of the items they would need… leotards, ballet shoes, bobby pins, you name it. And don’t forget snacks — when you go straight from school to an after-school activity (in our case on Mondays, we don’t get home till after 7pm) –those snacks are crucial! So, I was busy packing my bags with all the necessities and got ready to head out the door when I got to the door and realized I didn’t have my keys. The funny thing was that I could swear I had just grabbed the keys off our key holder on the wall before putting my jacket on and grabbing all my bags to head out the door. I started to frantically search as I didn’t have a lot of extra time before I had to pick up my kids. My search resulted in…no keys! I finally realized that I wasn’t going to make it to pick them up on time and had to resort to calling my husband to leave work early to go pick up our girls. He was a good sport about it, but joked that he knew he’d find them as soon as he got home (he is usually the one who misplaces his keys)!

Well, I kept on searching & so did my husband when he got home. We didn’t find those silly keys for 4 hours! It wasn’t until I headed out to run an errand and put my coat back on, that all of a sudden my keys fell out! They had fallen into the hood of my jacket and been there the.whole.time , as I was walking around in my jacket looking for my keys. How in the world I didn’t find them for like 5 hours, I have no idea?! But just goes to show you how busy life can get when you have an active family on the go!

Motts Snack & Go Pouches Favorite of Kids

As you can see, keeping up with my kids’ schedules and their hungry appetites when they finish the school day is no easy task! What is it about the end of a school day, you’d think neither of my kids eat anything during the day, as they are always starving?! I’m sure many of you have kids who are the same way when they get home from school, so it’s a challenge coming up with things they can eat without spoiling their dinner. I always have a basket full of fruit they can eat, but kids like to have a little extra something to go along with the fruit for a more fun snack idea.

Motts Snack & Go Applesauce

That’s why I love to buy snacks like the Mott’s® Snack & Go applesauce pouches as these are healthy options to add to lunches, after-school snacks or snacks to keep in the car. We have used Mott’s® applesauces for years and these convenient, on the go pouches from Mott’s make it an easy option to throw in lunches or snack bags. But, even better, kids love them as they come in delicious flavors! In fact, my 6 year old was adamant that it was actually strawberry sauce not strawberry flavored applesauce, because she thought they tasted so sweet & just like one of her favorite fruit, strawberries! Even better, they are an excellent source of Vitamin C, plus the Strawberry & Natural flavors do not have any added sugar* (see nutritional info below)! It’s important to us to provide as many healthy, real fruit options as we can, which is why Mott’s® Snack & Go applesauce pouches are a nice addition to our snack stash.

My favorite part is the little to no mess with these pouches, so we can throw these pouches in our bags to eat after school in the car on our way home or to an after-school activity since the kids can open them on their own and they’re easy to eat without getting sticky hands or faces.

Plus, kids get so excited about having something new & different in their lunches. As we near the end of the school year, I know I am running out of inspiration and this cute video by Mott’s is pretty much the story of my life when I attempt complicated food items! (My family would agree! :) ). So, my kids are thankful for special treats like these Mott’s® Snack & Go applesauce pouches.
