Veteran’s Day 2011 – Discounts and Freebies

It’s time for our 3rd annual Veteran’s Day big list of discounts & freebies! Veteran’s Day is this Friday November 11th & a chance to honor those who have heroically served our country to protect our freedom. As I’ve mentioned in the past, I come from a history of military men (my dad’s retired Navy  & my husband’s a Coast Guard veteran & more) – so I love any chance to share ways to honor these special men & women!

Make sure to share this post with all the military service members & veterans that you know so they can be honored for their service!

Tips:

  • Proof of Military Service – If you’re not active-duty military with a military ID, then you’ll need to bring proof of your military service for the majority of these locations (I figure it’s best to be safe than sorry)
  • Call ahead first - participation can vary by location, so it’s best to not just rely on this list but make sure to call ahead & visit the links I’ve listed to confirm that this offer will be happening at your local location.
  • Be prepared for a wait – If you live near a military base or only have a few locations offering discounts in your area, then definitely expect that you might have a long wait. Think about going during times that would be less popular.

National Freebies:

Northwest Freebies:

I will be adding to this list as I find more discounts & freebies for Veteran’s Day! Please feel free to leave a comment if you know of any other discounts we can add to our list.

Do you have a link to more information about this, A? I have just checked & did not see this anywhere. I need to verify before I can add it to our list. Thanks!

Coastal Farm and Ranch offers a 10% discount everyday to active duty and retired veterans. There is a sign at the front of the store with the information but I can’t find it on their website. Just bring proof of service (although I’ve used it a number of times without the proof – I keep forgetting to copy my DD-214.) :(

Thanks Carla! I’ll check it out!

So many people tend to forget what Veteran’s Day is really about, which is honoring those who have fought for our freedom. Big Gunz Clothing is having a Veteran’s Day Sale, offering 10% off all of their merchandise. In honor of the Vet’s,10% of the sales will be donated to The Wounded Warrior Project. They will also be offering a direct link on their website to donate a dollar amount to the foundation. To help with a worthy cause, visit http://www.biggunzclothing.com, or for more information about the foundation, visit http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org
