*Update: Please call first at Barnes & Noble or Fred Meyer to see if they have any LeapPads in stock before you head out to the store. It sounds like these are difficult to find – they are in hot demand!! And if you find one, you’ll want to jump on it!

Many of you have been asking if we have seen any Black Friday deals on the LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer and we have found a couple deals for you. We have a couple deals for you that are currently going on and end before Black Friday.

Barnes & Noble:

Barnes & Noble has a 40% off any educational toy or game printable coupon available through 11/24 (Thanksgiving Day). If your local store has the LeapPad Explorer in stock, you can use the coupon to get it for only $66.

You will want to check your store’s inventory before heading out to make this purchase - check here for the Green LeapPad and check here for the Pink LeapPad.  Thanks Thrifty & Thriving!

Fred Meyer:

Facebook Fan Tiffany also shared that Fred Meyer has the LeapPad Explorer for $100 (this has not been verified) and there is 25% off in ad toy coupon good through 11/23 (Wednesday). With this coupon, you can get the LeapPad Explorer for only $75 at Fred Meyer. Thanks Tiffany!

*Reader Jessica shared that on Tuesday, November 22nd, you could get an additional 10% discount if you are a Senior by showing your ID for a senior discount.

Also, on Tuesday, if you are over 55 you can add an additional 10% off to the 25% off coupon at Fred Meyer. Just show the cashier your license and ask for the senior discount.

Fred Meyer also has an additional savings certificate valid Sun – Wed… after all other discounts, if you spend $150+ – save $30, $100+ – save $20, or $50+ – save $10. (not valid in food department though)

I already put 2 of these leap pads on layaway at walmart do you think they would honor one of these stores coupons?

Jen November 21, 2011 at 10:34 AM

Hmm, I’m not sure how that works with layaway, Kara?

Hi there,
I just called Barnes and Nobles in Woodinville and they do not carry the Leapfrog LeapPad explorer tablet but do carry the software for them. They did say there has been an increase in calls regarding these tablets this morning! I checked online and only found the games and app’s but not the tablet. I think Fred Meyer might be your better bet.
Happy shopping!

Thanks Michelle! I think it will vary depending on where you go. Thrifty & Thriving had a reader who found it at the Bellevue store yesterday, but that may have been because it was a larger store.

I just scored one at Fred Meyer this morning. The second store I went to had 6 of them on the shelf. I got it for $65 after the 25% off toys coupon and the extra $10 off for spending $50 from the savings certificate.

How can you get the 25% off coupon and the extra $10 off? I live in the Bay Area (San Francisco), but my brother lives in Washington. I am hoping he can pick up a leap pap for me…especially if it is for $65! : )

Candin November 22, 2011 at 9:24 AM

Both of the coupons are available in the ad that you can pick up in store. The deal is only good through tomorrow though.

Jeanne November 23, 2011 at 6:21 PM

Would you be willing to buy one or two for those of us where there are none to be found in our area or in a 100 mile radius?

Candin November 21, 2011 at 3:33 PM

Also, if you know someone who works at Fred Meyer like I do, the friends and family event starts on the 28th so be sure and get your coupon from them!

Good luck finding one available in B&N. I was trying to get one for my mom this morning (she wants to give it to my nephew for Christmas) ….i’m on the west coast & she’s on the east….so I’ve been calling stores on both coasts – WA, OR, NY, NJ, NH, CT, MA, KS – called over 20 stores in those states, and every single one said they’re sold out (the ones where the B&N site shows them in stock are only because the store has 1 or so & they’re already on hold for people – multiple employees told me that).
All of them I called also told me that they can’t even order them because their distributors are out so they can’t even give them an idea as to when they’ll be in stock again :(
So good luck if people are able to score one for the $66 @ BN!! lol you lucky devils!
