I am kind of confussed I have not used to catalinas much but if you pay $4.70 and then get the coupon then how do you use the coupon when you already completed your transaction?
You have to use it on a different transaction. I think it’s easier to think of it as store credit for a future purchase.

Thanks Melissa! Yes, Katie, you will pay the $4.70 the first time, but then you could actually buy 4 more toothbrushes & use the $4 catalina on the next order (we call this “rolling”). But it is a store credit that you can use on anything. Sometimes I will do 2 transactions in a row – you could do the toothbrush transaction first & then if you have regular groceries to buy – use the catalina coupon that you would get on your next transaction to lower your out-of-pocket. Does that make sense?
Yes, thats what I figured but when it says free it is not exactly free then, i mean you have to pay money to get them for free. Which is still a great deal.
At my store they had one style of tooth brush on sale for $1.99 and then an additional 20% off so I think they were $1.80 each. So I bought 4 of those with 4 $1.00 coupons and got a catalina for $4.00 and a $1.00 off.

Safeway catalina coupon alert! I just got back from the Safeway in my area – Seattle – and they are running a special that ends today where you get a $10 off your next purchase (expires 4/16) catalina when your total bill after club card and any coupons is $75.
Amazingly enough, the person in front of me just left his…he didn’t even read it. So, I picked it up and got one of my own…so I’ve got two!
