I headed to Fred Meyer tonight & check out the 20 bags of Kraft shredded cheese I got for a grand total of $2 (taking into account coupons & catalinas). This is all part of the Kraft Catalina at Fred Meyer, going on thru tomorrow, Saturday July 24th. {And don’t worry – there was plenty left on the shelves! They were well-stocked!} The cashiers were so impressed, that one of the gals even went on her break to buy some herself!
I did a total of 4 transactions for the cheese (5 for $.50/each per transaction) and an extra transaction to use my last catalina on some clearance toy/shoe/baby finds. I’ll share more about the toy clearance in another post.

WOW! WOW! WOW! I thought I got a good deal at $1 a bag (after catalinas) at my Kroger store. This puts me to shame!
My friends always think I’m nuts when I stock up on cheese like I do (and like you do!), but it saves SO much money down the road. Nice shopping!
Thanks – yes, for something that I know we will use alot of, I will stock up! Shredded cheese freezes well in the freezer – we actually just ran out about a month or so ago from the last big cheese stock-up. And I love not having to shred my own.
When you do multiple transactions, do you do them all at once and just separate your purchases with those baton things? Or do you get back in line several times? I’ve been meaning to ask this question for a long time! Thanks!
Kelly – I rarely do more than 2 transactions at once (one right after the other) unless it’s very late & there aren’t people behind me & they’re Albertson’s doublers.
With this Fred Meyer trip, I did 2 in a row (since there was no one behind me) & then went & did the rest of my shopping & did 3 more (but I did it thru the self-checkout line since there was no one behind me then). 2 more with the cheese & then one more to use my catalina on all the rest of my groceries. I personally do not like to go home with catalinas so I try to use them on other grocery items.
If it’s busy at a store, I will always get back in line so people don’t have to wait for me to do multiple transactions.
