Update: It looks like this is not available in Clark County. It’s only available in these counties: Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, and parts of Marion, Columbia, & Yamhill county.
Just found out about a great deal for those of you down in SW Washington & Oregon:: you can subscribe to the Oregonian on Fridays, Saturday, Sundays & holidays for just $1 a week!! AND you’ll get the “This Week” section on Tuesdays! Wow!! This is the price I paid up here for the Tacoma News Tribune last yr, but it was only for the Sunday paper!
It sounds like this is for new subscribers only, though (it has to be longer than 30 days since you were a subscriber)! The $1 price is only for 24 wks, after that it will change to $30 for 16 wks, so make sure to put it on your calendar when you need to call back & ask about another rate.
Call 503-221-8240 or go to:www.OregonLive.com/weekendpackage
Now, if only the newspapers up here in western Washington would start offering deals like this! As I mentioned HERE, I called both the Seattle Times & the Tacoma News Tribune & they do not have any specials for couponers. But, I really think that if more and more of you keep calling their subscription offices asking for this, they may consider offering some sort of a promotion in the future!!
{If you are in the area for the Everett Herald, though, make sure to check out the promotion that Coupon Connection told us about HERE – I think this is still working!}
Thanks for letting me know about this great deal, Saving 4 my Family!

Won’t work for me, I’m too far south, here’s what is says… This introductory offer is limited to residents of Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, and parts of Marion, Columbia and Yamhill counties who have not subscribed to home delivery of The Oregonian in the past 30 days. Weekend Package is not available in Vancouver or Eugene. Introductory subscription rate of $1 per week is for 24 weeks. After 24 weeks, subscription rate changes to $30 for 16 weeks. Thereafter, Weekend Package will be billed every 8 weeks at the current home delivery rate, which is $24. Offer expires 04/18/10.
Thank you for updating us, Sheela! Too bad it’s not for more areas! I’ve updated the post to share this new info!
So won’t work for Tillamook County?
It doesn’t sound like it Krista, but it doesn’t hurt to call the number & ask about it.
