UPDATE: This was just a 1 day deal so it is now over!!
I just received a fabulous tip from a reader (Thank you Jennifer!) – today only you can purchase a one year membership to the Woodland Park Zoo for just $40 for the year for 2 adults.
Not only that, but it also includes free admission for the 2 adults to more than 100 reciprocal zoos and aquariums. So, even if you don’t live in WA, you might want to take a look at the list of reciprocal zoos & aquariums – because it might be worth it to buy this!! For my Oregon/southwest Washington readers, the Oregon Zoo is included on the list of reciprocal zoos! So, this might be a great deal for you all as well – buy the Woodland Park Zoo membership and you can get free admission to the Oregon Zoo (I couldn’t determine for sure if it was a one-time instance or unlimited-but it appears to be unlimited.) Make sure to call the zoo if you have any questions about the reciprocal zoo/aquarium agreement!
UPDATE: I just called the zoo and they said you will have unlimited admission to any of the 100 reciprocal zoos & aquariums!! Awesome!
Here’s all that it includes::
- Unlimited admission for two adults year-round (That’s a savings of $16.50 per adult, per visit in the summer-$11 per adult from Oct 1st-April 30th)
- Free admission to more than 100 reciprocal zoos and aquariums across the U.S. and Canada (including the Oregon Zoo)!!!
- Free member decal
- Free Subscription to “@thezoo”–Woodland Park Zoo’s quarterly magazine
- Free annual member wall calendar featuring stunning Woodland Park Zoo animal photos
Go HERE to purchase this 1 year membership for 2 adults for $40!
Kids ages 2 and under are free, so all you’d be paying for would be any kids over the age of 2. If you have 2 kids over the age of 2, you might want to even consider buying 2 of this package and paying for the adult tickets if you think you’d use it enough to make the savings worth it! (Admission for children ages 3-12 is $11/visit or $8 in the fall/winter). I just purchased this myself and it gave me the option to buy another package, so I would think you could buy another one for your kids-but you might want to call the Zoo to confirm that they would accept adult tickets for the kids (I wouldn’t think that would be a problem!)
Now, this offer is thru a daily deal site called “Living Social -Daily Deals“, which looks similar to Groupon. I have never heard of it before myself (so I can’t vouch for it), but it definitely is a legitimate site (if you’ve had experience with this site before, please let us know-positive or negative). I did research it ahead of time and found a number of articles about Living Social & how they are now branching out to doing daily deals!
It looks like they currently only have deals in the following six cities: Seattle, Washington DC, Boston, New York, San Francisco, and Atlanta. So, if you live in any of those areas, you’ll want to check it out. I figured it was definitely worth a shot for us to try, so I signed us up! It does look like it has a limited number of offers available every day, so you’ll want to check it out quickly!!
Lastly, this site also has an option where you can share this deal with your friends, family & others and if 3 other people buy this membership deal through your link, you can get it for FREE! They will give you your unique link AFTER you buy it. So, you won’t know if you get it for free until you’ve already bought it! But, that’s kind of a nice little bonus!!
Thanks again for this tip, Jennifer!! You readers really do have some of the best tips out there, so keep on sending them to me so I can share with everyone!!

Sold out! Bummer
Could 2 people get in free at the other zoos?
Sorry Janae-it was just a one day deal yesterday! Lori-Yes, both people would get in free at the other zoos w/unlimited admission (according to Woodland park zoo when I called to ask about it) – so this was an amazing deal!
Actually, this sold out BEFORE the day was over. They had a limit of 500, and that number was reached before the deal was done.
